Everyone talks about Burton’s bass, which is iconic here, mysterious, but Hammet’s soloing soars, it’s perfect. Chills every time.

Kirk soloing over Mustaine-penned songs is always great. People can say what they want about Dave, but he wrote the bulk of this song, and his progressions give Kirk a great platform to work with, melodically-speaking.
@hmpz36911 Жыл бұрын
@Khayky de Karvalho That would be amazing. When they brought Dave out at XXX, they only focused on KEA, but imagine how much he could add to the complex stuff with all the harmonies.

@@liviupopescu1027 Literally, all of the main riffs are Dave's... Other than changing the name or arranging the song, nobody else had much to do with it. James likely wrote 2 of the riffs that are at the very end of the song, and I think Cliff has credits, so he probably wrote 1 of them.

Lars was absolutely incredible on this song.
@thetribalist69235 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Honestly, Lars is incredible on most of the first five albums. Always in the pocket and had fills for days, but his real genius was his accentuations. He may peaked with Justice, but Black still had some great moments, and that drum tone...
@thetribalist69235 жыл бұрын
@Shallex agreed. I like his drumming on the Load albums, but I've always felt those were his weakest performances. He's the kind of drummer that let's the song breath, though, and there's definitely merit to that. His playing on St. Anger was great, but it was nearly ruined for most fans because of that snare. You're right that his influence on song structures is way underrated.
@thetribalist69235 жыл бұрын
That's true. Drums often give the song life, and ultimately dictate their personality. I love Steven Adler's work on Appetite for Destruction. It's not Dave Lombardo level, but it has swing, and makes each song sound better. Same with the Load records.
