Double strap is life after a few left shoulder injuries, helps spread the weight of a bass/guitar, can't recommend it enough 👌

Straps I use are D'addario Planet Waves 25RVP01-DX Comfort Leather Reversible Guitar Strap, Suede. Theres another brand I've used in the past called Comfort Strap, their straps are really good also 👍

Love ur vids dude. Been using em to learn a bunch as a beginner myself. Only problem is I’m kinda stupid and idk where to find some info on what all the symbols and stuff means lol is it like a hybrid of regular sheet music stuff? Maybe I can start there🤔 also I’m tryna play with my fingers so does some of those movements/symbols really just apply to picks?
@JamesDixon2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, here's a little tablature symbols legend: h hammer on p pull off b bend string up r release bend / slide up \ slide down v vibrato (sometimes written as ~) t right hand tap s legato slide S shift slide * natural harmonic [n] artificial harmonic n(n) tapped harmonic tr trill T tap TP tremolo picking PM palm muting (also written as _ and .) N.C. No chord: tacet or rest / tremolo arm dip; n = amount to dip tremolo arm down n/ tremolo arm up /n\ tremolo arm inverted dip = hold bend; also acts as connecting device for hammers/pulls volume swell (louder/softer) x on rhythm slash represents muted slash o on rhythm slash represents single note slash ·/. pick slide Most common techniques for my tabs will be hammer on's and slides. Only one's that really apply for pick playing will be up and downward but you can ignore them playing with fingers. Any other question's just drop another comment, enjoy playing 🙂🎸

Simply badass, but can I ask why u have 2 straps for tha bASS?
@JamesDixon Жыл бұрын
Injured left shoulder, so another strap on the right shoulder distributes the weight meaning I can play for longer.

James, emg hz, tone pump, maple bass body?...Thank you, brutal tone.
@JamesDixon3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, its all stock, maple bass body with EMG SSD pickups 👌
@pepegrillopantera19883 жыл бұрын
@@JamesDixon I think the pair tonepump and ssd sound very good ... I am about to acquire a ssd, its cost is very accessible. Could you compare them with the hz? .Did you think about replacing them with 35 dc or do you think you need an active truck? It is amazing your sound, deep, low and bright with that stock combination. Do you use any distortion for that tone? Thank you very much, your sounds are delightful to my ears!
@JamesDixon3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Never thought about replacing the pickups as they sound good to me and I'm not all that good at electronics ha. I use a Scarlett 212 for all my recordings and when recording the Spector bass I set the input gain really high, that's were the distortion comes from. Keep in touch, interested to see how you find the SSD's 👍
@AmandaRogersarock19884 жыл бұрын
I know you posted your gear but you're using but can you please confirm the Spector is plugged directly into the Focusrite? This sounds SO punchy and I love the tone you've got here. Great cover and clean playing :) .
@JamesDixon4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yup yup straight into the focusrite which does glow red so am distorting the input but sounded good to me, strings would have been a few days old at this point as well 👍

Great tone ! How did you get it?
@JamesDixon3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Added a new set of strings, plugged it into my scarlett 212, turned up the input gain until it distorted and that was it. Doesn't take much to get a Spector to sound good 👌

@Garrett-on-Guitar2 жыл бұрын
what do you call those straps like that or is it is just to normal straps?
@JamesDixon2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it just two regular straps offset at different angles to spread the weight of a bass across two shoulders as opposed to one. Got the idea from @insanedeathmachine🤘
@Garrett-on-Guitar2 жыл бұрын
