FR THO!!! Every time I come back to listen to Metallica I'm always obsessed with that sick ass guitar lick. And funny enough they forgot they already used it cause they put it in Atlas Rise too, but with less umpf of that low note and faster. I like this one in Suicide & Redemption better.

Le Scheers Music touches people in different ways. It's ok if you don't understand it. It doesn't have to be sad to make you cry. It could just be an amazing riff or melody. I personally cry every time I hear Fractured Mirror by Ace Frehley. Dimebag Darrell did a cover of it and that really pulls at my heart strings.

Fade To Black, Welcome Home (sanitarium), One, The Unforgiven, The Outlaw Torn, The Unforgiven 2, The Unforgiven 3, Halo On Fire. Just a few examples of songs with great solos with feel and emotion. Some of these even have multiple. No Kill em All because those were Mustaine's solo's and were just super shreddy.

From 6:30 to 7:40 or so, where Rob is correcting key changes and bad notes because he wrote the part...such a technically sound player. Easily the most technically sound of any bass player the band has ever had.

It's just freaking hair. It has nothing to do with how kickass the music is. You're basically asking them to conform to a stereotype of metal that appeals only to the lowest common denominator. Doesn't matter how they want to do their hair or shave their face. They still write, produce, and play the best hard rock/heavy metal of all-time.

I like em for different reasons. DM is more progressive metal with complicated song structures kinda like the justice album and hardwired has more catchy chorus and hooks kinda like the black album. But yeah the distorted drums were the big problem on DM.

So they are recording the parts in that room with the mixing desk? I thought bands usually record the instruments in the main room where all the instruments are?

redplague totally depends on preference. This way seems more appropriate as they’re still writing the song so they can talk and communicate without affecting the recording or having to go in and out a room. As long as the amps are in the rooms and micd up you don’t need to be in the room too
