I wasn't a huge fan of Load when it came out, I don't think it's what the fans "wanted" at that time. To me, it's an album that got better with age and has stood the test of time very well. This version of Outlaw Torn is my favorite song of all time, it's simply fantastic. I think Load has some of their best work but it's very underappreciated, much like this concert. My friend of misery, the outlaw torn, and fixxer is the greatest 90's trio of songs. And a bonus low mans lyrics to finish it all off. Low man is something I would love to see live especially with the orchestra. But low man is doomed

In my opinion, this is their best song ever. Only this version though. The symphony brilliantly fills in the holes left in the original Load composition.

I like it on the Load album as well but I agree this is the better version.

This version of this song could be the best thing Metallica have ever done, I was blown away when I first heard it. Couldn't get enough of it! Anyway, much love to everyone and to everyone, keep on rocking out to the world's greatest Metal band of ALL time in my eyes for sure. Metallica baby! 🤘👊🙌👏🔥💖

Load was a fantastic album. It had such a heavy tone with deep messaging, with a blues architecture to bring it all together.

ah, yeah....70 years metal head young here and this is the BEST. If it weren't for symphony, metal might not exist. I played violin in grade school orchestra. How I wish I could have been one of those violinists on this one. Battery and One will blow you away too! Love, love, love it!!!

I appreciate more of the metallica that I didn't like growing up as I grow up. The evolution must be appreciated.

I think their best concert was '89 seattle but this is closest to that. - James' vocals are above his standard and i think that is a high standard - Jason is Jason. always playing with so much passion and demon like back vocals - Kirk'll give you the ultimate eargasm through his solos, that you wouldn't want it to end And even Lars is good.

Honest to God, Load is my favorite Metallica record behind Master of Puppets. Almost every song on that record resonates with me and I can appreciate and understand other people's opinions of it. But for me it is absolutely prime. And this version of The Outlaw Torn just helped to highlight everything that was right with that record. S&M is by far my favorite live album ever.

@@amadeuskyouma1314 If anything the development he made was that he learned how to not blow his voice out on a regular basis, and discovered his ability to sing in a more traditional matter outside of thrash metal.

@@mirage5566 well if anything the S&M dvd suffers from post pro vocal autotune as hell. I love it, really much because james sings awesome on it anyway, but they still finetuned even the most minisquel pitch shifts in the OG recording. Don't know who approved this but the whole dvd is autotuned in postpro, which kinda ruins like 10% of the experience for me now as i know, but other than that still awesome and chilling. It was just back then when the pitch shift correction soft was the new thing, so i think that somebody from marketing and production decided to overuse it in this one. Still awesome gig tho.

His voice peak in this 90s era. Enough distortion with enough technique, not too clean as today, not too damaging as in the 80s. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.
