I never quite understood the hate towards Load and ReLoad era. The songs are very soulful, the lyrics powerful and relatable, and James' voice is more empowered and dynamic than before, we feel the harshness but also the feelings in it. I really love those albums, especially Load, and The Outlaw Torn is on my Top 10 Metallica's favorite songs. The Outlaw Torn live again! great song from Load.
@ryderplayz4510Ай бұрын
this is one of the best performances i’ve ever watched. truely a masterpiece of a live show, band, album and song. James’ brilliant vocals, the weird noises on the guitar and the volume knob being twisted as many times as possible is James being awesome. Rob’s way to play slowly and gracefully, and sound AWESOME makes Rob’s bass in, this song especially, beautiful and hard-hitting. Lars’ okay build ups (except the awesome one before Kirks’ solo.) and snare sound make Lars undeniably unique, and Kirk’s soloing, and being able to be as patient as be was as everyone else takes the lead role and doing their thing, and his back-up vocals make Kirk a master of a musician. All this together with the brilliant song writing and experimentation with this song and Load/ Reload in general, and everyone working together in a beautiful musical way definitely created a musical masterpiece.

When Hetfield sang the part “if I close my mind in fear please pry it open. If my face becomes sincere. Beware. If I start to come undone Stitch me together. If you see me strut remind of What Left the Outlaw Torn.” I had a pit feeling in my gut that something was that bad going to happen to him. One the most unrated but most powerful lyrics behind this masterpiece it’s really James Letter to his family and the Metallica family. We love you James. James may rule the rhythm guitar world with an iron fist, but goddamn he can lay down a killer solo when he gets the chance to as typically seen on longer songs like this. People who say Metallica was finished after AJFA simply have no understanding of music. Their albums in the 90s showed that they are much more than a traditional metal band who rely too much on fast riffs, solos and double bass. The Load/Reload showed their versatility and their ability to master alternative, country and psychedelic rock. If they did not hit a series of unfortunate events like Napster, James' rehab, Jason's departure, internal strife etc, I'm sure they would have created another game changing album like The Black album instead of St. Anger.

That is why I like Metallica so much, the more people and trolls alike bash on them, the more I keep supporting them. True, some people really don't get their music, they are not tied to any genre because they are a class of their own, they do beyond where noone else dare to do. They have created probably the best riffs of all time imo. I am a long time fan, so I might be biased, but for now I am happy that young people appreciate their less famous albums, so basically, they make music that never gets old or outdated. I am waiting for them to come to australia, not a slipknot fan cos I mean they are quite good, but their songs are quite outdated after times, and they don't really have riffs. I like riffs because it is very satisfactory to hear those melody coming out fromt fingers dancing across those strings.

Arvind Shastri Back in 1996-97, some people hated it because the logo has changed, they cut their hair, the songs were mid tempo, with some bluesy country influences.... but now I don’t know if / or why some people still don’t’ like it....
