I can't forgive them. I can't forgive you. I can't forgive myself. This trilogy brilliantly paints the horrible and painful spiral of resentment. An angry and broken heart starts broadly by blaming the world and then they blame and punish those closest to them...and in the end, when everyone is gone, there is no one left to blame but themselves. I love my Metallica family❤

A mesma coisa aconteceu no Brasil.

I was born 11 years after the first of these songs were released but I still relate to them on a fundamental level. The trauma expressed in Metallica's painful lyrics and melancholic chords resonate with me in an extremely painful but cathartic way. I feel so grateful to them for making such powerful artistic expression that my soul can resonate with.

The Unforgiven- New blood joins this Earth And quickly he's subdued Through constant pained disgrace The young boy learns their rules With time the child draws in This whipping boy done wrong Deprived of all his thoughts The young man struggles on and on, he's known Ooh, a vow unto his own That never from this day His will they'll take away What I've felt, what I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never be, never see Won't see what might have been What I've felt, what I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never free, never me So I dub thee unforgiven They dedicate their lives To running all of his He tries to please them all This bitter man he is Throughout his life the same He's battled constantly This fight he cannot win A tired man they see no longer cares The old man then prepares To die regretfully That old man here is me What I've felt, what I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never be, never see Won't see what might have been What I've felt, what I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never free, never me So I dub thee unforgiven What I've felt, what I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never be, never see Won't see what might have been What I've felt, what I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never free, never me So I dub thee unforgiven Oh-ooh-oh Never free, never me So I dub thee unforgiven You labeled me, I'll label you So I dub thee unforgiven Never free, never me So I dub thee unforgiven You labeled me, I'll label you So I dub thee unforgiven Never free, never me So I dub thee unforgiven The Unforgiven || - Lay beside me and tell me what they've done And speak the words I wanna hear to make my demons run The door is locked now but it's open if you're true If you can understand the me then I can understand the you Lay beside me, under wicked sky Through black of day, dark of night, we share this, paralyzed The door cracks open but there's no sun shining through Black heart scarring darker still but there's no sun shining through No there's no sun shining through, no there's no sun shining What I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you? Yeah, what I've felt, what I've known Sick and tired, I stand alone Could you be there 'Cause I'm the one who waits for you Or are you unforgiven too? Come lay beside me, this won't hurt I swear She loves me not, she loves me still but she'll never love again She lay beside me but she'll be there when I'm gone Black hearts scarring darker still, yes she'll be there when I'm gone Yes she'll be there when I'm gone, dead sure she'll be there? What I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you? Yeah, what I've felt, what I've known Sick and tired, I stand alone Could you be there 'Cause I'm the one who waits for you Or are you unforgiven too? Lay beside me, tell me what I've done The door is closed so are your eyes But now I see the sun, now I see the sun Yes now I see it What I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you Yeah, what I've felt, what I've known So sick and tired, I stand alone Could you be there 'Cause I'm the one who waits The one who waits for you Oh, what I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you? (so I dub thee unforgiven) Oh, what I've felt Oh, what I've known I'll take this key and I'll bury it in you Because you're unforgiven too Never free, never me 'Cause you're unforgiven too, oh oh The Unforgiven |||- How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever? Set sail to sea but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure Was he the one causing pain With his careless dreaming? Been afraid Always afraid Of the things he's feeling He could just be gone He would just sail on He would just sail on How can I be lost? If I've got nowhere to go? Searched the seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost In remembrance I relive How can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive? These days drift on inside a fog It's thick and suffocating This seeking life outside its hell Inside intoxicating He's run aground Like his life Water's much too shallow Slipping fast Down with the ship Fading in the shadows now A castaway Blame All gone Away Blame gone away How can I be lost If I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost In remembrance I relive And how can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive? Forgive me Forgive me not Forgive me Forgive me not Forgive me Forgive me not Forgive me Forgive me, why can't I forgive me? Set sail to sea but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever How can I be lost If I've got nowhere to go? Same here. I'm also quite young, compared to how long Metallica has been around. Rock is my favorite genre. Old-school or new, doesn't matter. As long as it sounds good and gives me the good kind of goosebumps, yk. I started listening to rock when I was 12 years old. I just turned 21. I'm danish, and i didn't understand the lyrics when I was younger, but i loved their music anyway. And now that I understand the lyrics, i love it even more. I also have a hard time explaining how I feel because I have ADHD, but the genre rock explain everything i ever felt, i just didn't know how to explain how I felt. Metallica did it for me.

@@hailherr ykw, this is exactly why these guys are so phenomenal. We, random people who can't explain what we've been through and how we deal and cope with and all the feelings we have inside which we think no one could understand, but they do. @kennethmullen-qe9hg7 ай бұрын
Some brilliantly masterful musical storytelling here, folks, take note... after note... after note... after note and then take it all in...again, again, and again, then, perhaps in the end all will be Forgiven, and Unforgiven (I, II, & III) will no longer need EXIST, despite how strong my soul detest, and my will will strive to resist, then through honorable persistence that part shall open to mischievousness too, as well, instead, of holding it so far down trapped locked inside that well, forever... Well, that is an utterly Unforgivable act, if ever I've seen or heard or lived one out... So...forgive me, now, as I continue stumbling on along IN and OUT of this Wasteland, we call LIFE! Live life, inside dreams. Dream...even, whilst you are Awake!

The Unforgiven New blood joins this earth, And quickly he's subdued. Through constant pained disgrace The young boy learns their rules. With time the child draws in. This whipping boy done wrong. Deprived of all his thoughts The young man struggles on and on he's known A vow unto his own, That never from this day His will they'll take away. What I've felt, What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown. Never be. Never see. Won't see what might have been. What I've felt, What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown. Never free. Never me. So I dub thee unforgiven. They dedicate their lives To running all of his. He tries to please them all - This bitter man he is. Throughout his life the same - He's battled constantly. This fight he cannot win - A tired man they see no longer cares. The old man then prepares To die regretfully - That old man here is me. What I've felt, What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown. Never be. Never see. Won't see what might have been. What I've felt, What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown. Never free. Never me. So I dub thee unforgiven. [Solo] What I've felt, What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown. Never be. Never see. Won't see what might have been. What I've felt, What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown. Never free. Never me. So I dub thee unforgiven. Never free. Never me. So I dub thee unforgiven. You labelled me, I'll label you. So I dub thee unforgiven. Never free. Never me. So I dub thee unforgiven. You labelled me, I'll label you. So I dub thee unforgiven. Never free. Never me. So I dub thee unforgiven. The Unforgiven II Lay beside me, tell me what they've done Speak the words I wanna hear, to make my demons run The door is locked now, but it's opened if you're true If you can understand the me, then I can understand the you Lay beside me, under wicked sky Through black of day, dark of night, we share this paralyze The door cracks open but there's no sun shining through Black heart scarring darker still, but there's no sun shining through No, there's no sun shining through No, there's no sun shining... What I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you? What I've felt, what I've known Sick and tired, I stand alone Could you be there? 'Cause I'm the one who waits for you Or are you unforgiven, too? Come lay beside me, this won't hurt, I swear She loves me not, she loves me still, but she'll never love again She lay beside me but she'll be there when I'm gone Black heart scarring darker still, yes, she'll be there when I'm gone Yes, she'll be there when I'm gone Dead sure she'll be there... What I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you? What I've felt, what I've known Sick and tired, I stand alone Could you be there? 'Cause I'm the one who waits for you Or are you unforgiven, too? Lay beside me, tell me what I've done The door is closed, so are your eyes But now I see the sun, now I see the sun Yes, now I see it What I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you? What I've felt, what I've known So sick and tired, I stand alone Could you be there? 'Cause I'm the one who waits, The one who waits for you.... Oh, what I've felt, what I've known Turn the pages, turn the stone Behind the door, should I open it for you? (so I dub thee Unforgiven) Oh, what I've felt... Oh, what I've known... I take this key (never free...) And I bury it (never me...) in you Because you're unforgiven, too... Never free... Never me... 'Cause you're unforgiven, too... Oh The Unforgiven III How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever? Set sail to sea but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure Was he the one causing pain With his careless dreaming? Been afraid, always afraid Of the things he's feeling He could just be gone He would just sail on He'll just sail on How can I be lost If I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost In remembrance I relive And how can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive? These days drift on inside a fog It's thick and suffocating This seeking life outside its hell Inside intoxicating He's run aground like his life Water much too shallow Slipping fast down with his ship Fading in the shadows now A castaway They've all gone away They've gone away How can I be lost If I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost In remembrance I relive And how can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive? Forgive me, forgive me not Forgive me, forgive me not Forgive me, forgive me not Forgive me, forgive me Why can't I forgive me? Set sail to sea but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever How can I be lost If I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost In remembrance I relive So how can I blame you When it's me I can't forgive?

He said I could borrow AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. I was like "Pssh .. really? that metal shit? Ok fine." ..
