@rubensuarezuribe22946 жыл бұрын
1. The slow introduction: it symbolizes the feeling of aggression and loss that the band suffers due to their loss. 2. Solo #1: represents the whole feeling of anger of Kirk Hammett. 3. The interlude (slow part of the intro): it represents the acceptance of the loss of the 3 remaining members, and the going forward in their honor. 4. Solo # 2: represents how deeply the death of Cliff Burton has affected them. 5. On the return of the heavy part, they pay tribute to Cliff by reading the poem, his last composition, and continue with the tribute doing just what Cliff would have expected of them, to move forward with the music. 6. Upon reaching the end, the song returns to the classic style of the introduction, symbolizing the memory of Cliff, which will never end. The final riff is suddenly interrupted, symbolizing the end of Cliff's life, cut short by death at such a young age.

You are so spot on with your break down of the song. James and Lars do most of the song writing. Lars isn't the best drummer but one of the best song writers in metal they compose some of the best music listen to some of the S&M album with the symphony orchestra it is amazing. I enjoy watching your musical journey. Keep it going!
@themetalone77395 жыл бұрын
An incredibly sad and beautiful song. To answer your question (assuming others haven't already done so): Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield are the two primary songwriters. The process has changed over the 30+ years they've been together, but on this album they wrote songs by collecting various riffs and pieces of stuff that Lars, James, Kirk, and Jason had composed beforehand. They'd take all these little pieces, and James and Lars would just spend hours trying certain parts in different order, and other experimentation, until they felt they got it right. Kirk usually plays and writes all solos. This was also the song writing process for most of their careers.

SiLenT366 the whole album is a masterpiece imo... dyers eve is such a good song, especially when you know the meanings James Hetfield intended for the lyrics. Eye of the Beholder is also a great song but I gotta give it to you, the phaser effect in James' voice kinda throws me off a bit. Doesnt make me skip the song when I get to it tho, still love it.

One of the best albums ever made. The only song I often skip is Harvester of Sorrow. Mostly because I'm tired of it, but it also feels too simple for the album. It would have fit better on the black album.

rick j agreed. If Orion got her, the intro and outro alone will set her off lol

Yes, Agreed! You can definitely hear the scream and growl of Cliff's bass in that piece.

Call of Ktulu was not the last of the instrumental songs by Metallica, the last one was Suicide and Redemption

One of my favorite guitar solos of all time in this song....he makes that guitar sing. Maybe not the fastest, maybe not hte hardest, but it just sounds right.
