That man turned out to be the Infamous Dimebag Darrell. Now I’m a old man who still plays from the heart and what I just watched was pure heart and soul. Great cover fellas You have a new fan.

Amen brother. I’m getting old too at 45 or at least it feels old. When I was 18 my roommates and I would wake up and blast Vulgar Display of Power etc and wake and bake lol. I miss those days sometimes but it was a reckless time. A few of those friends have passed and I sometimes wonder why I was spared. Must’ve been amazing living in TX when Pantera was coming up. Congratulations on your musical journey. Keep playing from the heart. Peace and all the best to you from PA🤟✊❤️

@greenpro @Big Rig GiG Man, I was living in Dallas, Arlington, Farmington back in the early 80s. We would go to this one rock n roll club to see different bands and this one band called "Pantera" would show up occasionally. We got friendly with them being that we were all big hair rock n rollers. Small club, but they had the best lights, sound and yeah, Diamond Darrell. They were always the best among the club scene back then... I'm 60 now. These Aussie boys are good.

I would love to be sitting at a fancy restaurant somewhere with nice back round music is on. This version of this song comes on and I would be rocking to it. I would have to look around and assume most people would not even know they were listening to Metallica. Very awesome job guys!!

I was never able to play it for him. When he passed i became determined to learn that song, it took some time but I eventually got it. Everytime i play that song, I like to imagine Ben is listening to me...brings a tear to my eye everytime. You will get there too imagine. God bless and stay strong

I couldn't help but draw the parallels between the song title and the old man slowly passing by. I don't mean to sound so macabre, I mean let's hope he lives another strong 40 years but we're all dying right? Just at different stages approaching it. These young men living, doing what they love.. then the old man.. it was kind of poetic really. Plot twist, that was the old man from the unforgiven.

Vander's Garage lol agreed but u do realize Lars picked that snare sound on purpose. He’s bored and he’s artistic. He keeps trying new things with the rest of Metallica. Best example was and justice for all. It was a total accident that made that album sound so unique and special u don’t hear it on any other record. They killed the bass and made it absolutely flat. So the snare on st anger was an empty trash can but unique. It kinda grew on me to be honest. But overall their last true great album was load and reload. Everything after that starting with st anger was too repetitive and not good.
@vandersgarage4682
@vandersgarage4682 4 жыл бұрын
@@c.wdervin5987 I can understand wanting to experiment. But there comes a point where you listen to the playback in studio and just go " Wow, my snare sounds like total shit, guess I will try something different". You dont put the shit sounding experiment on the album, well, I guess Lars does, but he's a goober anyway.

Vander's Garage and that’s y I said st anger was crappy. Sound is one thing but the song writing for me is what makes a band good or shitty. Unfortunately Metallica lost that song writing magic. They’re only human after all. But still we can’t forget the amazing music they’ve given us in a row all the way from kill em all to reload. They are the Beatles of metal, and that’s no easy title to achieve.

Ahh. Cliff was the greatest. Can you imagine the trajectory Metallica would have gone had Cliff lived and been with the band all these years? I mean, Metallica is the biggest band in the history of planet earth, but Can you close your eyes and just for a moment truly imagine how much bigger and better they would have been had Cliff been writing the songs all this time. I remember the day he died. I was 13 years old. I was so sad I could barely celebrate my Birthday the following day. It was just terrible.

Not to disrespect Cliff, but I feel like if he was still in the band Metallica would not be as big as they are today. I could be wrong, but Cliff was too much of a purist and too experimental to do anything like the Black album, which is what blew Metallica to mainstream. If Cliff was still in the band, they would be an incredible band, and the new songs I can’t imagine how awesome they’d be... But I think Metallica would be a very different band and not as big as they are today.

God Bless guys! Cool dudes chillin together on the instruments! I was the guitarist at my highschool. Chilled in corner of lobby next to the stairs just about everyday. In morning before first period I’d sometimes get a half hour! At lunch, in free periods. I’d be there in the corner next to the stairs and right in front of the barrier. Outlet behind me... vending machine used to be there... good that it ain’t anymore cause it’s a perfect spot to plug in my amp! I grab the best condition Yamaha classical guitar sometimes from the music room and sit there guitar in left leg practicing my classical. I’ll bring my strat, SG, Jackson USA Soloist. I’ll play, can be heard down the halls. It was a great thing I did to get noticed... I have couple friends. ONE... lifelong. Just a chill dude. These guys are exactly like me. Good people. God Bless guys keep chillin and jamming together!

First, that's some commitment on the box to the flams and everything. Excellent percussion work. Second, that finger-picking at around the 4:40-mark isn't easy in the best of circumstances, least of all in a public place as a performance. Well done, again. You guys are great!
