becuase the instruments are not as loud as the vocal is, so the instruments are in the "back"

That is not what a backing track is. A backing track is supposed to be the instruments without the vocals. Or just the bass and drums, without any other instruments.

....or just the drums, bass, and vocals as many are done to accommodate guitar players. Some include small guitar fills and occasionally rhythm backs during solo pieces.
