the reason there's so many varieties of music, and now indeed cross-genre music, is because different people respond to the different "feels" of music. To me, this is what speaks to my soul. Heavy, passionate, emotive, raw.

I started listening to Metallica and other great musicians at 62, when I got fired from my last job. I took myself on a personalized boot camp after years of being trapped in office works. I loved working but it was torture to stay still on a chair 9 hours daily +2 in public transport 😱🥵 Music has always been my main drive and inspiration and my colorful imagination. I can't believe it took me so long to get to hear Metallica, Within temptation, Bon Jovi and other fabulous musicians. This song is a masterpiece among others of Metallica. I listen to it endlessly while doing my 10'000 steps walks each day through the mountain Forrest here (Europe). Internet hadn't always existed you know, I'm going on 68 next year. It's never too late though. 💗💗💗 METALLICA 💗💗💗 I used to be listening to CDs of Foreigner, Lou Gramm etc before the internet. I still love Foreigner.

Metallica are the only band that can never do a bad cover, and in some cases, they make it better than the original. You can tell they really love music and do massive respect to the original artist. Not many musicians are this good. This is just one reason Metallica will go down as bigger than Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden as the masters of metal.

Each singer has their own style, some do country, rock, pop, jazz etc. To me for metallica to cover this song shows they have great respect for Seger and did their part to honor it. think about it, your not a heavy metal singer and you pour your heart and soul into something, then someone comes along and boosts that. Yeah their version may be more hardcore and epic, but the original is both uplifting and inspirational. But their version didn't exist until yours, they may have drove the hard rock truck down the road but you paved that road. :)
