The entire song is a stone cold classic, but from4:45 onwards it always gets me. It legitimately sounds like a piece of classical music to my ears which was undoubtedly Cliffs influence. I love Kill ‘em all, but the growth in the 3 year span from their debut to Master of Puppets is just astonishing. I struggle to think of a metal band that matured&grew sonically or lyrically that quickly. Pretty astonishing. Also what a perfect mix courtesy of Michael Wagener.

No more can they keep us in Listen, damn it, we will win They see it right, they see it well But they think this saves us from our Hell Sanitarium, leave me be Sanitarium, just leave me alone Sanitarium, just leave me alone Fear of living on Natives getting restless now Mutiny in the air Got some death to do Mirror stares back hard Kill, it's such a friendly word Seems the only way For reaching out again.

Now every time I hear this song it reminds me of the HBO documentary "Paradise Lost" and I can't help but feel sick to my stomach with how messed up our court system is. There is no real justice. 3 boys were wrongfully charged with the murders of 3 younger boys. But in the biggest fail of it all, they could only be released if they plead guilty to the crime they always knew they were innocent of. Jason would have refused if Damien wouldn't have been facing the death penalty. So not only did the "justice" system fail them, and take away 17 years of their lives, but the REAL killer of 3 precious 8 year old boys walks FREE today. And meanwhile in a case I'm very familiar with since I reside in the state of Florida, the Casey Anthony trail. OVERWHELMING evidence of her guilt. But she walks free today. Why? Because she's a young white upper middle class woman. These boys were convicted because they liked black clothing and heavy metal, something that now 20 years later people don't bat an eye at. And once again, the real victim is that precious baby girl Caylee, who was thrown away like trash, and her KILLER walks FREE today. AMERICANS, THIS IS NOT JUSTICE. WE CAN'T JUST KEEP TURNING OUR BACKS AND PRETENDING THIS IS WOULDN'T HAPPEN, IT IS! AND UNLESS WE START DEMANDING CHANGE, MORE WILL DIE IN VAIN.

Nico Contreras yeah, after 17 years in prison for a crime they didn't commit. worse, the actual killer was has never been found or punished for the 3 boys that were murdered. They were all 8 years old. So justice isn't just lost, it's perverted. There is nothing justified about it. Makes me sick. The WM3, men now, boys still themselves when they were arrested, to be released they basically had to plead guilty or else they wouldn't be released. So justice will never come, because they aren't looking for the killer. They can't accuse someone else of the crime they pled guilty to already.

+John Tweed Totally agree dude. Master is the best record, Kirk said it's his favorite they did also in a interview. Cliff was great! There will never be another like him..

Today's metal doesn't have the same sound, like metal in the 70s-early 90s. Plus the analog sound is superior to digital like vinyl over a CD. "BACK TO THE FRONT!!" YOU WILL DO, WHAT I SAY, WHEN I SAY, BACK TO THE FRONT! That's metal! Before they sold out that is, from metal to mellow, cutting off all their hair, Kirk wearing makeup! Lol. I still haven't got used to Jame's buzzcut, Eddie Van Halen also, seen him in a photo yesterday with his "Butch" haircut wearing a pink shirt! Few bands hung in there like Megadeth etc..

That's why i have +4 likes, and will get more. Metalheads like me that's in their 40s-50s were around in the day of REAL METAL. His "old look?" He should of never went along with that bullshit in the first place, the Bob Rock day's. Lol, headbangers remember them day's. Hey real Metalheads, flashback, remember the 1996 MTV music awards (that is before MTV turned into the childish nonsense it is today) when Alice n Chains was sitting up there when Metallica sold out to the young "Wigger's with baggys as some of us called their new fans, anyways on one of their guitar's said "Friends don't let friends get haircuts!" That was fucking hilarious! They came out with their new look. Cliff Burton would have NEVER went along with this stunt to bring a bigger fan base and make more millions, he would of told Lars and Bob to kiss his fucking ass!

Once again, I do agree. but what im saying is Kirk is the only one who is really trying anymore. And so true XD Cliff would never stand for that shit!

I'm with you, but I call it the world we, us people, have made for ourselves. A matrix of bullshit and meaningless lusts for nothing that really matters. That's my take.

Welcome to where time stands still No-one leaves and no-one will Moon is full, never seems to change Just labelled metally deranged Dream the same thing every night I see my freedom in my sight No locked doors, no windows barred No things to make my brain seem scarred Sleep my friend and you will see That dream is my reality They Keep me locked up in this cage Can't they see that why my brain says rage Sanatarium Leave me be Sanatarium Just leave me alone Build my fear of what's out there Cannot breathe the open air Whisper things into my brain Assuring me that I'm insane They think our heads are in their hands But violent use brings violent plans Keep him tied, it makes him well He's getting better, can't you tell? No more can they keep us in Listen, dammit, we will win They see it right, they see it well But they think this saves us from our hell Sanatarium Leave me be Sanatarium Just leave me alone Sanatarium Just leave me alone Fear of living on Natives getting restless now Mutiny in the air Got some death to do Mirror stares back hard Kill, it's such a friendly word Seems the only way For reaching out again

Jason was not in the band when this song was made?? IMO, I love Jason, but he decided to quit the band during their hardest stretch. Jason wimped out, quit, and did not support Metallica through the roughest times. James was firm on Jason about side projects, his controlling state, but Jason decided to not fight back, ride it out, and let the band come together. He chose to just quit. Rob now is amazing IMO.
