I joked before I went to this concert with my wife that I would get her a drumstick. Low and behold at the end of the concert Lars went down to take pictures with the banners and handed out a few drumsticks and I was one of the lucky ones he gave it to. Let me tell you I've been a huge Metallica fan for years however... having Lars fucking Ulrich hand you a drumstick made my fandom shoot through the roof. Love Metallica and I'll always be grateful for that Lars!

When I was 17, I was living on the streets, it was cold and I was alone. I had no parents, no family, I was depressed, and felt completely defeated. One of my only possessions was a disc man and a copy of the black album. It was late in the night and I was listening to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters", and it hit me, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God was with me. I had God and Metallica, and I was going to be alright. I'm a therapist today, and I share that story with my patients when introduceing music as a coping tool. I went to a Metallica concert this year with my son "13" and was protested by a Christian group, I was thinking to myself "if they only knew", lol.

When life turned out to be cruel and harsh on me I almost wanted to kill myself untill I listened to fade to Black.Idk what happened,I felt it was not worth it and now I'm fighting with my problems, one year has passed.Metallica has something in their songs.Idk wheather I would even be alive if I didn't listen to fade to Black. @@disshad.k.p4231 I went back and listened to Fade to Black after reading your comment, it's hard to get over the fact, that these songs are so powerful, how could a bunch of kids write and compose this scale of emotion in a song blows my mind, the concept of opera, which I don't listen to, is that it has a story which is told through tones and pitch, the pitch and tone are the words, in essence it is another language, or a universal language, Metallica does this, I watched a reaction video of a young black girl listening to Orion and she broke down in tears, now back to my original point of how could a bunch of kids who weren't classically trained in music know how to do this. I listened to Heilung the other day, and they have the same deep sound, it's very interesting stuff.

i saw these guys a couple times. amazing shows. in 2000 i saw them an a huge outdoor concert, kid rock opened.he had a huge inflated middle finger on stage.thats was hilarious. Metallica played master of puppets, but fused it with sanitarium for the middle part, and back into puppets again. it was awesome. i saw james approach lars at the drum stage, and lars was shaking his head " no no no"... then sanitarium began to play. i think James overruled the veto.
