@@thedude-jb7wx I agree; it's a fantastic ROCK album just not a fantastic thrash album. Those days are gone. I'm 53 and have seen the early days. Master of Puppets is my all time favorite album and therefore nothing can ever beat it - even an album created by the masters themselves. James H is an older, wiser man with kids. It changes people and their music is different because of that. I appreciate their current music for what it is and added it to my collection, but I know that their best musical days are behind them. That's kind of what this song is about to me and James' own struggles over the years to almost striving to perfect the music. He can't get faster, and he doesn't want to be judged by others into always providing top-notch experimental music 100% of the time and be set up for failure. Instead he focuses on his lyrics and the riffs are just there to bring us along on a journey. That's how I look at their post Black albums like Load, etc.. I would LOVe to see another PUPPETS album but it's just not going to happen.

The fight was against the US government and the basic royalty rights. As the artists making the music they should be entitled to all the royalties and stuff but places on the net that pretty much offer stuff for free like Napster where the whole idea pretty much started kind of pissed off a lot of music artists. I'm a 31yo Millennial and Death Magnetic was the first Metallica album I ever purchased. Most of us younger people accept newer Metallica for what it is (there are some metal elitist cringelords tho), instead of "what it should be" according to people who only want replicas of the first 4 albums. Most of the criticism is coming from older people like Gen X who grew up when Metallica was getting their start, there seems to be a generational divide here (of course there are exceptions tho). 72 Seasons is a fantastic album imo, I think it tops Death Magnetic and Hardwired, and that's saying a lot because I freaking love those albums!!! Wow. Yeah. This song sounds outrageously great. I love hearing the purr of the bass. How good the drums and James' voice sound strong. The guitars are on point. I love the melody. Thanks for making magic again, Metallica. The video is magnificent, it transmits a lot.

I completely agree. James’ vocals are absolutely amazing along with all the incredible riffs, and Lars’ drumming is excellent on this album! You can tell the entire band put a lot of time and care writing and playing these songs during the recording process. I also have to tip my hat to their producer Greg Fidelman. This is his second time being the lead producer and sound engineer on à Metallica album and you can tell he really knows how to bring out the best from each band member. This is truly an epic monster of an album!🤘🏻😎

Best song Metallica has written since the black album. Those riffs are groovy as hell and this is a rare case where Lars' simple drumming actually makes the grooves hit harder. Banger.

@xanderpills Жыл бұрын
@@Nissardpertugiu Yeah but the drum accents are way too stable and similar. I'm a music producer who uses MIDI-triggered drum-"romplers" such as Superior Drummer 2. Sounds very familiar here. Plus, Lars can't keep up a beat live, I don't think that's different in the studio.
