Saw them in 1986 on the Puppets tour about a month before Cliff was killed. Again in 88 just before Justice came out on the Monsters of rock tour. Again in 2009 on Death Magnetic. Can't wait until the next album.

Finally Metallica got to play a set that wasn't the same as every other show with the exception of a few songs! Lol! (Referring to the By Request tour) It was refreshing hearing songs like Harvie, Lights, Fuel, & Cyanide!

Many rarer songs were played during By Request: Fuel, TDTNC, Harvester, Lights, Whiskey, Frayed Ends, AJFA, Fight, Disposable Heroes and even St. Anger.

Harvester, Lights, Disposable, & Frayed was played only 1 time during the Request tour.. AJFA has been on the set list almost every show since '12. Harvester was played a lot last year. And since World Magnetic ended, almost every show was opened with Lights. And as far as the other songs, that's why I said with the exception of a few songs.

PantMal They've been doing that for decades now. Pretty much just a hang to pump the crowd. There are some performances out there where they play that part. Probably then Fight Fire w/ Fire is on the set and they use that song for the "are you alive?" spot.

They are kinda right in the middle of writing a new album and they are having their break after touring. So I think it's just the mode they're in :P They can't play anything new either when the camera is there. I remember in Oslo when they played their rehearsel room was within listening range, so I could hear them jamming on stuff is on Death Magnetic, this was in '07.
