Ok funny story, I was parked at a Walmart near where I live and I was listening to this in the car, windows rolled down, waiting for my older brother, and this middle aged woman comes up and goes, " this is satanic music, why are u listening to this in public knowing there's children?" I just turned the music up louder and rolled up my windows 😂😂😂 🤟🤟🤟

I think the hidden factor behind Metallica reaching this level of success: it's not the fast riffs, the original, go against the grain attitude and song writing... but their ability to be their true authentic genuine selves! That is what's so appealing to fans... there's a comfort and relatability in seeing fellow humans being their true selves. A level we all strive to reach. Watch other live bands. There's something missing, something off about their performance. You can feel it in the air - you're feeling them searching to find themselves, trying to be something they're not - Lars on the other hand is 100% true to himself and that comes across as real. And I think that's why this band was able to break through the mainstream and smash through the boundaries and carry the torch for heavy metal and hard rock music for other bands to follow. So many life lessons to be learned from following this iconic band. Here's to hopefully 20 more solid years! Long live Metallica

True. But let's also face it: they are the best metal band that ever was and ever will be. When Bon Scott, James Bonham, Randy Rhoads, Phil Lynott, Curt Cobain, Layne Stayley, Ronnie James Dio or Lemmy Kilmister (and all the others I can't think of right now) passed away it was a huge loss for the movement. When the guys from Sabbath, Maiden, Slayer, Judas Priest, Guns n' Roses, AC/DC are going to leave us, it will be an insane loss. But when Metallica leaves this world? The entire metalheads and metal band members are going to be in grief and mourning for at least a year. They are the pumping heartbeat of Metal from the depth of the 70's where they took all their inspiration, the 80's when they wrote the legend of metal music, the 90's where they transcended metal music, and the XXIrst century where they revived it when everything was changing so fast. They are a monument to music, and people will listen to them in the XXIVth century just like people still listen today to Bethoven's or Bach's music...

Also one factor as they say themselves is that they do only what they love to do. They do this not only for the fans, but very very much for themselves. They go up on stage and having a really great time and having fun. And it shows. I remember Lars saying in Some kind of monster that he refuse to go up on stage like a f*cking joke. Meaning he will not go on stage only playing because the record-companies want him to, or just to be a band living on past successes. He wants to be right here and now in step with time and look forward. In other words be authentic.🙂
@laporte1625 Жыл бұрын
They definitely feel very genuine, but it would be nothing without the music imo. They wrote some of the best if not the best metal music ever. They transcended thrash, and came up with their own personal and ambitious sound. Master Of Puppets album is a high that has not been surpassed, by any band.
@MoreAwsomeMetal Жыл бұрын
@@laporte1625 I think they consider they have surpassed the MOP album with the Black Album, but most of the metalheads would disagree (including myself!)

I think in part it's the way they tour now, with a few weeks on and a few off. That lets them stay fresh physically. Also playing the no repeat sets seems to have lifted both them and the fans, so many bands will just grind out the same set for a whole tour yet Metallica are playing 40 or so different songs over 2 nights.

Half the band is eligible to eat at any NYC senior center for a suggested $1.50 - and they can each bring one younger guest along. It would be epic if Metallica showed up to one for a pop-up set at a senior lunch program. My mom was the director of a senior lunch program for many years, and was an art consultant prior to that. She would have totally invited the band, but she became ill and passed about 5 years ago. She always loved when her 90 years olds did more than most 20 year olds, but there were 60-70 year olds who were fresh out of retirement age and really feeling like they were suddenly old. She would have loved the idea of an epic band (or several) surprising seniors to show them that you’re only as old as you feel in your mind, even if your body isn’t what it once was - and these guys are NOT old. I mean, look at Rob’s crab walk while effortlessly playing a bass on point. Kirk’s nimble guitar fingers. Lars’ timing and physicality seems better than ever. Het is just pure riff monster with his speed. I know James has expressed feeling old sometimes, and maybe doing an event like I suggested would also show him that he’s anything but old for all he’s still actively doing - not just with the band, but his classic car hobbies, charity events, book events, enjoying his home, beautiful family, etc. He’s kinda doing the same stuff that he’s done for many years. He should not feel old. He should feel incredible - if he ever wants to date this 42 year old (hi James!), it would be my honor to do so. I never wanted to date anyone more than ten years older, yet I don’t see him as being old at all. Would love to have the chance to change his mind, lol. Dreams are free, folks! 😂😂😂
