Thanks for making this tutorial. How did you do the first cut of the bezel cut out of the sheet of metal? Just holding the sheet of metal in your opposite hand? a Vise? I guess it is one of those things that is second nature once you start.

How do you get your bezel wire to fit so well? I always end up with a fit too loose.

Also! Would you consider showing us how to make a more decorative bezel cup?

You can can get softer bezel wire (it's called Dead soft) and it's a little bit easier to form closely up against the stone. Try this kind: www.riogrande.com/Product/999-Fine-Silver-1-8-Plain-Strip-Wire-30-Ga-Dead-Soft/101091 But also, just try to fit it as closely as possible when you're measuring it around the stone.

Your first solder should of been hard solder. Always use hard nerve use easy. Use easy last grade. Who ever taught you not the professional way. Revere always use hard solder. If you use stains steal binder you can make it like s tripod. Also get rid of smith little is a toy that often sold instead . my of choice is meco midget. Also you can take tip of of your meco use tub has a multi office torch tips for more heat if need One more comment. You can just use pice of sheet sliver for a bezel use template to get stone size then get length of stone. Saw it out use wax to e blade Also use file to remove extra solder on seem. draw a square on sliver also use Use dividers to maker out ur square. Use jeweler saw to make backing plate Also use a hollow scrap to clean your seem before soldering. Do you use flux. To stop sliver from oxidation? If you plan on selling your work always keep you first and second project has a record of work when learning new skill. Try it it better product in the end. You can nerve make better pice of jeweler. Put a highest finish on you work. I would get the Professional Goldsmithing

Hi! I appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed comment, however it's pretty offensive to say that whoever taught me didn't teach the "professional way". I am a professional jewelry designer, I own my own retail store that employs 7 people, I have been teaching for over 8 years. My teacher was one of the best jewelry makers in New York and she graduated the Metals program from Savannah College of Art and Design, she certainly learned the professional way there. When you say "If I sell my work..." take a moment to research me, if you had you'd know that I own my own retail store where I exclusively sell my own work and my line is carried at over 100 retail store in the US. Please be mindful about how condescending your comments may be when you write them. If you have another way to teach this process, you should certainly start your own channel and teach it there, rather than use my platform to degrade me and the way I teach.
