i am just 3 minutes into the video but, i just want to let people here know that there ARE strong unions for IT employees. there are caveats to this, but the basic functions are all there. employees may have to do a sneak and get into a union, moreover, once an IT company is openly antagonized by an employee, the entire spectrum or at least a large portion of companies take note and target these unionizing employees and make their lives harder. all being said, unionizing is always the right way to go, as far as work society goes.

also the point about AI, the scare about artificial dead labour replacing living labour has always been around, but it will never happen as long as capital is around. simply because capital NEEDS a reserve army of labour, 'bayam romba theva.' the gig economy is a very in-the-face example of what happens when automation is increased, instead of workers being freed of work (as it was prophesied by 90s tech bro types) they were just subjected to more and more menial, schizoid type of work environments. for instance, a 25 yo fellow driving uber, delivering swiggy/zomato, and doing data entry in the time remaining is something i have actually seen happen, i know him irl. AI will just perhaps replace workers in mainstream production, but workers will just be relegated to more and more degrading work. a friend and I were joking about this, we made up a job -- lighting cigarettes; using an app one can call a person nearby to come light their smokes for them for 5-10 rupees. this is a pretty huge and complicated topic, but nothing too esoteric or beyond understanding.

Meta Monkeys kagala .. they are firing because of over valuation of employees (means many employees started demanding higher salary) this has created a domino effect in all organizations, so employees started demanding higher salary after covid, also the C suite / directors started feeling their subordinates are getting paid equal to them. so leaders in the organization makes this strategic move to create fear in the market, so fired employee will again look for newer jobs, he/she will not demand more, him/her tragic experience would create other wave or mindset in other employees, so high salary craving would lessen. Note : This is also a point to consideration, there may be some other important factors also for this firing.
