currently in the final dungeon 100 hours in and honestly I don't want it to end. While I don't think the story will have a bigger impact on me than p3 did, the game is a different kind of special to me gameplay wise this is the most fun I've had playing an atlus game which makes me excited for p6, and whatever future projects they have cooking. (I really hope they make a metaphor sequel in like 2030 or something 😭)

Gameplay wise the game is pretty similar to atlus’ smt series if you haven’t tried it out. I think metaphor personally probably has the best story out of any atlus game that I’ve played (I haven’t beaten p3 but I’m around 25ish hours in), but if you’re just looking for more gameplay of this style, try out some smt games!

I’m also final dungeon about 120 hours. I’m the opposite, i just want it to be over at this point. No new game plus and probably not going to max all the archetypes. Good game but it repeats a lot and it drags. You do the same dungeon like 6 times lol

I think the story is actually better than P3's, but the ending of P3 is better. I don't think they will top P3's ending.

The masked dancer rocks if you completely ignore it's mask gimmick and give it the accessory to reduce synthesis cost and abuse its synthesis skills, like the party wide charge

Use masks for mobs, use the accessory for bosses. Best class for mob cleaning.

I abused its Synthesis skill to add Ice Weakness to bosses and just spammed Frigid Fortress Tactic with everyone.... Even the toughest bosses became quite braindead after that... :'D

Funny thing, i actually got that sword surfer trophy naturally by just playing the game. I hated how many teleport points were for each district and town and was usually really reluctant to use it. And after each story development i used to go around each town to see if there was new NPC dialogue. (There are some vague spoilers in this paragraph, avoid reading if you haven't gotten to the capital of Montario basically)There is actually some really interesting stuff and foreshadowing if you do listen to the npc's. Some of them even have their own mini stories. For example, there is a drunkarad at the tavern in sunlemo street in Grand Trad that doesn't seem like much at glance. But as you got back to him throughout the game you actually learn he used to be part of the mage Academy before the sanctist church shut it down. During the final time you can speak to him he reveales that the Mage Academy was actually researching archetypes, way before some of the later plot twists. Made me go wild with theory crafting. (My original comment was longer, talking about my grievances with the story but decide to cut it because i Believe it didn't belong in this comment section. Would be willing to discuss it if someone is interested though)

Congrats on plat! Just going to note for anyone else looking to do plat that gold beetles carry over into NG+ so easiest strat is to just hoard and carry those into that obligatory second run if you don't have enough the first time around.

Persona 3/4 are prob my favorites story wise, but it was awesome to see Atlus go deeper into topics like politics, religion, etc. All while making an excellent story taking place in a fantasy world as well

Absolutely loved this game, it’s my second favorite game of all time behind Persona 3 Reload. Ngl I need to go back and platinum Reload and Metaphor, I only have 10ish trophies left in metaphor and a couple in reload

NG+ I’m doing on hard and only things I’m missing is the super boss and beating the final boss under full power. But god I love this game. P5 Royal cemented my love for JRPGS so I have platinumed 5R, 3R, doing SMT Vengeance platinum once I’m done metaphor, and probably do OCTOPATH 2, and Nier after. If I love a game, I’ll do the platinums

😁 I also want to platinum the game too, the game really is so a blast thats worth getting all trophies, but it's going to have to wait since I'm trying to get through my backlog before the remastered tales of grace comes out next year in January, oh and like I said in the video with best class in the game, not trying to pick a fight or anything but i dont think masked dancer is the worst class, yes I agree with you on how its lame that you cant cover up a weakness you have with the class and it takes up a accessory sloth, but I think its a really fun class to use and use the faker class to just weaken the whole field every turn is pretty fun, and helpful against so of the beefier enemies, its not the best but not the worsts, I think that goes to the faker class outside of using it to get the royal class I never used it.

Metaphor was my first Atlus game and an instant platinum aswell. I did need a guide though for the 100%, too much the game doesnt tell you. I dont think I will like Persona though because of the highschool setting.

@@DanielK-1Luv416 if I can be totally 100% honest with you I would choose metaphor over SMTV Vengeance any day of the week. It was my first SMT game and while the gameplay was AMAZING, the story is significantly worse than Metaphor’s in my opinion. I can’t explain why without spoilers, but halfway through Vengeance I felt like the story got really bad, but metaphor’s story only gets better and better the further you progress. I will say Vengeance’s OST, gameplay, and dungeon design is better than metaphor’s if that’s a major selling point for you, but metaphor is good in all these aspects as well for the most part. Either game is a good choice but I would choose metaphor personally

You don't actually have to go through the entire game again, you can go ahead and fight the dragon at any time, it will just be difficult.

There’s no skill in doing a whole new game plus just to fight one extra boss my friend. It doesn’t show anything beyond who is willing to spend time on it. Congrats and everything but you talk like following an online guide to beat a boss and sinking lots of hours into it is some kinda skill and it’s not, this game is just a time investment. Everyone beats whatever they try to beat on whatever difficulty as long as they’re not completely clueless.

Interesting. I like p3 but I feel like the first half is pretty slow. Good to know that you love it that much. I personally think that metaphor is probably atlus’ magnum opus, but then again I’ve only beaten like 3 of their games (I’ve started like 8 though….)

@ that’s fair. In my case, I’ve been playing fes (a modded version that lets me control party members) and I lost my save file three times so it’s just a lot of work going through the first 15 hours of the game 3 times. But I’ve finally gotten past where I used to be on my old save files so I might pick it up again

I thought optional dungeons could be good but there were far too many and they kept overusing the same one. Even the “palaces” kept being reused, about 3 of them felt exactly the same. It was a huge letdown to be honest P5 palaces were really special.

Metaphor new game plus is the worst new game plus I've ever played. It was such a gigantic disappointment especially because atlus KNOWS HOW TO DO IT RIGHT like I don't get it
