I'm a 40 year old Wife and Mother, I was diagnosed MBC right out of the gate 4 years ago. I'm doing well, it has been trial and error, but mostly Ibrance and now Faslodex (after a bit of progression). I am doing well and staying positive, praying for more research and a cure one day!!!

Any side effect from Ibrance please? A family member who gets cold/throat infection easily is facing the decision to take Ibrance or not. Thank you

Prayers for you. I hope you continue to thrive. I am at the beginning of my cancer journey and feel so overwhelmed with the diagnosis itself. It’s important to be realistically positive. I refuse to “die” before I’m dead. I find comfort in stories like yours. Thank you for sharing such an intimate part of your life.

I was diagnosed with MBC in 2017. I have had NO treatment at all! All my scans show everything is stable now for nearly 7 years.

Taking zoldronic acid has horrible side effects. I’ve been in bed for over a week. Is there something that is better with less side effects

I had my first Zometa infusion a month ago, given with 0.9% sodium chloride for electrolytes and hydration. Total appointment took about 1.5 hours. No problems during or since. No fatigue or side effects. I believe the saline solution and extra infusion time is what prevented the side effects so many women report, especially after first time. I'm going to request this method of delivery for all future treatments.

Hello how are you? How long have you been taking zoledronic acid? My mom is about to have her third dose this month. Her breast CA relapsed after 4 years and it metastasised to her bones we just found it out 2 months ago

Chemo gives bone mets
@ojjordan8796 Жыл бұрын
How so?
@stephp7778 Жыл бұрын
@@ojjordan8796 in regards to breast cancer, my bones were in excellent condition prior chemo...the poisoning stops your good cells from forming, even our immune system. Imagine 6 months of chemo.. I figure this is why they estimate a 5 year survival from diagnosis...because that's when chemo treatment commenced...furthermore a lump from the breast that took 2 years to grow doesn't spread in 6 months. I believe it's the chemo leaving your body vulnerable and new cancers can form freely rather than spreading from the initial tumour. The initial tumour was cut out prior chemo.

@@ojjordan8796 it depends on your bone density and age and how many cycles they give you...they make you sign a waver before commencing treatment. For some it gets you later. I don't know if it happens to every single patient...but there is a list of possible new cancers after chemo that may arise later including brain mets too. I don't believe it's the same cancer that has spread from the breast unless maybe an aggressive late stage cancer where micro cells have already invaded other areas prior treatment.
