No disrespect to Smith, but he would've ruined this movie. The reason he didn't fill the role was because of creative differences from Tarantino. Smith wanted the film to focus more on the romance of Django and Broomhilda, Tarantino wanted what the film is now.

I think the reason Shultz is so funny throughout the movie is his attitude towards death. He is very much like an audience member in the way that killing doesn't faze him, to him it's business, just as slaving is to Candy. It takes Django, (who is presumably Shultz' first friend in a while) for his acts of killing to go from business with that he believes has a positive effect on society at large, to something more personal. This shift is mirrored in Candy who seemed more a businessman that happened to be in the business of slaving than anything else, to shift slaving from a means to make money and have power, to something far more personal. Candy is the only person in the film that Shultz kills with any emotion, so much emotion in fact that he values removing Candy from the earth more than he values being on it himself. With Shultz we go from the violence being meaningless to something very deeply personal as we grow to hate Candy along side him. He reflects the audience in a way few characters can without breaking the 4th wall. To put a bow on it, he's funny cause he's us.

You know it's a small detail like the brittle Brother's pistol only having five shots that helps me remember that Tarantino made this into something of a labor of love. For those of you who aren't where it was extremely dangerous to keep a loaded revolver with all six Chambers ready to go as the hammer would be resting on one of the percussion caps and dropping the gun are hitting the hammer on anything could easily set the firearm off. So most people only loaded five shots and rested the hammer on an empty chamber.

@tbush665711 ай бұрын
Some revolvers like the Colt 1851 Navy had notches in between the cambers that the hammer tip rests in, preventing it from cycling until the hammer is manually pulled back. Many people didn't notice this, leading to a myth that this revolver didn't have a safety mechanism

To the people who say that the trajectory of the bullet does not match up with the wound - you can see that as Schultz is lining up the shot, he slowly aims from left to right, the brother on the horse is also moving from left to right. Now it appears that some people are confused and believe that the bullet hits him from the front, but instead it actually enters the right side of his back, where Schultz would be aiming, and exits on the left side of his chest, which matches with trajectory of the bullet.

Akillesursinne one man is young, lonely and poor. He meets a man who is a little older (materially), sociable and rich. Now the lonely guy doesn't know too many people because he wasn't sociable from when he was younger however he can tell by the amount of friends he has and wealth he's earned let me hang out with him he's cool. This young man wanted to was excited to be around this guy because he's experienced and confident. Africa is the young kid USA and European countries(u r right it wasn't just America) are the older, experienced person. The only difference is once the black people got off the ship to the land they got put on they weren't treated like black people

Ellis Brittle never even being on screen enough to have any distinct facial features is great. What did Ellis Brittle look like? doesn't matter, he's positive that's him and he's dead.

A bullet's path can easily be deflected when passing thru someone. It can be changed by tissue or bone. Also, the shot came from pretty far away so the bullet's velocity might have been reduced a bit. Speculative of course, but it happens. Ron Kovic was shot in his upper shoulder area but the bullet blew thru his chest & smashed his spine.

This movie is so satisfying to watch when you know the history of slavery. What happened to Black people at that time was just terrible
@ryotanu4 жыл бұрын
@Melvin Carter i agree. But in this case we Talk about african slaves. And they never got any justice. Even today there are no Reparations and people simply say: get over it. You never Here people say that about the Holocaust and what happened to the jews. When it comes to Black people almost NO ONE gives a damn. That's the reality
@ryotanu4 жыл бұрын
@Melvin Carter germany still pays money to israel because of the past. And most Holocaust survivors don't live anymore. Black people should receive the money because of what happened to their ancestors. It had a long term effect e.g. structural racism where Black people simply have different struggles than non Black people til this day and get treated differently. How ever this is getting off topic. I just liked the fact that quentin changed history. Like inglorious Bastards. I thought it was just satisfying to watch how the victims become heroes
