Plenty of crucians in there and they LOVE a worm. I've fished in the same peg your dads in, but I was fishing tight to the bank on the left of the fence. Couldn't stop catching them. Hell of a day!

Hopefully with the line coming off parallel to the rod rings, Northern style & not with those, soft, southern, shandy drinking gits, who prefer it coming off the bottom!! (Steady on Wilson - The willow herb, one of my favourite plawnts)

Thanks Ray! The place gets great reviews! I think the water level was just way to low because of the heat wave we have had. The next time I go I think I would fish it with a float rather than feeders also.

It’s a lovely place Limbrick, I fished the same pond a swim to your right. Wasn’t the best day, got the waggler out and got a few silvers but that bush/island you were fishing nothing! I want to fish the silvers lake at some point. You are spot on about changing the colour of your hookbaits, I was a ringers chocolate orange fan, but after a bad hour or so changed to a pink wafter, straight round. Also have a look at pellet brown wafters too, speedies Washters are good for the silvers (and carp) fished over pellets or pellets and groundbait on tough days. 5mm have worked well for me.
@WestysAngling
@WestysAngling Жыл бұрын
I have never done well on Ringers Wafters Lee, I tend to stick to Sonubaits. Their chocolate orange do very well, but my all time favourite is pink washed out! I haven’t tried speedies washters ! I think I’m going to have to do some wafters tests next year 😂
@leegarner6013
@leegarner6013 Жыл бұрын
@@WestysAngling yeah, wafter test could be interesting. I think fishing is definitely a confidence thing for individuals. You tend to stay with what works for you. I’d never put groundbait and pellets in the same mix like you do. I always mix them separately and add them to a separate tub if I’m mixing bait cocktails. Funny our little quirks, but I guess that makes us individuals.

If I can clearly see fish topping they are probably close to the surface. So I would not be fishing with a method on the bottom. Either bread or dog biscuit on the surface for me.
