Im now 75 and got back into fishing after 40 years. Go with my son 53 on Mondays and Friday with my wife of 56 years. They come because I am not too good on my legs these days and they help me if and when I need to net any decent ones. What a days fishing for you guys and what a family. Brilliant.

Hiya westy, I watch alot of people fishing and I find a alot of them don't fish the margins. When I first joined my fishery 5 years ago the owner said to me, get in the margins son, and I have ever since. You seem to get bigger fish in the margins. Tight lines. Dave. 🎣🎣🎣🎣

Red line is meant to go invisible under water supposedly but 20lb line is a bit over the top .Watching you get the carp care out just reminded me that I have run out of it 🙂 & I shall be needing it big time next week as going to a venue that lots of people with tackle like sea gear go to on holiday So Dad turned up then Must be great to have dad & grandad fishing alongside you

I love how you show how effective the margins are but still aren’t afraid to change if something is working. When you use two different pellets for your feeder do you believe it’s an aid or is it just a confidence thing?

You could have done with the large net your dad had with him when you left your one behind. With regards to your pellets, if you prepare too many for a session, can they be left to dry out, then re soaked on the next session? Barry from Essex

It’s sad to see stuff like that mate, I had a similar issue on my local commercial. Caught my first mirror carp that had like a size 20 hook in its mouth and was all wrapped up in line, some people have all the gear but, no idea. Loved the video, some nice fish on the bank

Hi westy just found your channel today - have watched loads of videos already - great content & some great tips - i love method fishing quiver tip in the margins have much more success than out far - how long do you leave in between casts (if not biting) ?? some vids i see say 2-3 minutes - others 15-20 and anything inbetween - also, how do you set the drag i never seem to get balance right, either far too stiff so get snapped or so loose cant rell in - is it just a light pull on line??? Thanks in advance - keep up the great work

2-3 minutes is definitely too fast, 15-20 in summer and 45 mins to an hour in winter I find is a sweet spot 🎣 yes pull the line should be resistance but shouldn’t have to pull hard 👌🏻

Do you ever use aniseed flavouring? It was a favourite magic flavouring in the 1960s over 50 years ago! It worked well then, and I can't see why it wouldn't be a great flavouring today!
