If you come to a point where you don't have either...a substitute fuel is hand sanitizer... I use it from time to time... Preferably without the micro beads. I've cooked with it and used it as a fire prep too. Another good vid Harry 👍

I did watch a vid by another tuber, he used two burners , bio in one , meths in other, it was just a burn test, the bio fuel burnt out before the meths did, he then snuffed the meths out and looked how much meths was left , there was at least 5 mm left at the bottom

Good video! Some lovely weather there too. I like your thoughts from the forest 👍 must admit i do use methylated spirit a lot, maybe time to try ethanol after watching this. I have a DPM bergan but my favourite camouflage is flectarn, works really well in woodland and on the moorland/mountains. Good video enjoyed watching and many thanks for sharing 👌

Hi Robert. The canteen in brittish army surplus Osorey BCB. The old version still available for a arpund £30 full set which is better than the new version with the drilled holes on the side that cause too fast a burn. On Amazon it is possible to find each component individually. Cheers vHarry

You’ve made me think again Harry, I hate it when I have to think lol. I like the sound of the Bio fuel so thought I’d look up the price, it’s pretty expensive 😳 but I get it’s a lot cleaner than meths. With regards to the pants your getting, I’m wanting some too but I don’t want camo, I’m hoping to get brown like your t-shirt but not looked in to them yet. Thanks Ant, good luck with the trousers, I found an excellent light weight dark green waterproof trousers on Amazon for about £12, brown will be hard to find. Also, Asda do a plain brown/green combat style denim trouser breathable for £15, quite good quality. Happy hunting. Atb Harry

There is no contest when it comes to price. Meths - £9.00 per litre.......Bioethanol £4.00 per litre. These are B&Q prices in December 2022.

Excellent test mate thanks for sharing crazy weather for this time of year I have loads of surplus gear as you say it's dirt cheap and rock solid So why spend a fortune on some overpriced outdoor adventure clothing when you can get a descent ex army jacket for £15? I have been sitting quietly in the background, having just recently discovered your channel, I have to say your presentations and subject matter are very informative and easy to watch. As an ex serviceman (Army) for 9 years, your content and explanation would put some of the old training videos to shame. On fuel, I tend to lean towards Meths and use it in my Trangia and BCB cookers, both lightweight and the MkII full cook set. Looking at the results, and the cost as supplied by one of your other participants, I might very well be tempted to give the bio ethanol a try.
