5, 10, even 20° colder than normal passes without special remark. Had this been summer, just one degree warmer anywhere in the world, on any given tuesday, would be hailed as a harbinger of climatic disaster to come.

Climate change, i.e. global heating is all about average temperature changes over years and decades. Rare very high and low temperatures have always occurred and will continue to do so. As the devastating effects of significant long-term climate warming increase, occasional local variation will happen but will not stop,the overall trend. I recommend reading the IPCC summary reports and perhaps some recent books by climate scientists.

@bigwideworld38711 күн бұрын
The temperature on any one day isn't what they look at, it's averages, it's sea temperatures! Why do you think it's getting a lot harder for anyone to see snow away from the pennines and Scottish mountains? Because the warmer seas are making precipitation fall more as sleet than snow, that's why nowadays if it snows during the night you are lucky if it's not melted by the time you've got up in the morning. It's not a conspiracy, the weather is blatantly changing! In 200 years from now, Iceland will have lost all it's glaciers and permafrost, by that time many places will be permanently under the sea including parts of the UK.
