Most of these aren’t actually rare if you watch the sky often and know what to look for. They’re just rarely as stunning as the examples shown.

I've seen and pictured 2 of these clouds. I seen Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds and actually was mesmerised how they looked like dolphins almost, they were so wavey. I seen them 2 ot 3 months ago here in Ireland and just today I see Mammatus clouds as I was walking to the shop. Mother nature is insane

I remember when I was younger one day, I was getting out of school, waiting for the school bus to arrive. Then I saw a giant ass shelf cloud. I had a horrible phobia of storms at the time so I was dying inside. I thought it was somehow a giant tsunami that made its way there, because the back clouds had a blue-ish tone to them and were dark, and the front clouds were light grey. It haunted me for a long time.

I keep watching for mammatus clouds. During the summer I've seen on many occasions where cumulus come together then form cumulonimbus which then goes to cumulonimbus incus but no mammatus. Patiently waiting to see that cloud formation I have seen all my other favorites.

Lenticular cloud. Formed when warm, moist air goes over a mountain, causing disc shaped clouds. When they detach from a mountain top, they become more UFO shaped.

Here in NZ we commonly get lenticular clouds that look like UFOs due to high winds around the topography of the landscape. These are natural phenomena. There are some people on this thread who think these types of clouds are man-made. It makes me laugh.

Im sure ive seen lenticulars above 16,500ft. Surely they exist over Himalayan and other high peaks!?? Not to mention when formed over a Cb, which could mean easily 8-10,000m high. Love th3 videos just curious for an explanation
