Metra BNSF Railway EB, Aurora to Western Springs, IL | VirtualTrain

Welcome to the first VirtualTrain video in VirtualTransit history! This is part 1 of a trip eastbound on Metra's BNSF Railway Route. We start at the west terminus of the route at the Aurora Transportation Center outside Downtown Aurora, IL and make our way east bound for Chicago Union Station along BNSF's Chicago Subdivision. This particular video will end at the Western Springs, IL station just east of the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). We pass through the first 13 stations along the route passing through some of the affluent West Suburbs of Chicago including Naperville, Lisle, Downers Grove, Westmont, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, and Western Springs. A great deal of the route rushes next to trees and houses and through a number of downtown areas too.
The video includes all the typical sounds you hear in the train including the rumbles over railroad switches, the squeaks along curves, the P.A., the doors opening and closing, and the conductor passing through.
The crowd was pretty light the day I filmed this since it was filmed on a Sunday afternoon in September 2020.

Adam I have got to say, I am a huge fan of your channel. I especially love the train videos you post. I recently saw the videos you posted of the Union Pacific West Line. I am a huge train buff, especially when it comes to Metra. You have an awesome channel. I’ve seen your other videos, and they are really cool. Stay safe, and keep up the good work!
