There's lots of bands that come and go without leaving too much of a wake of commercialism. I always love finding these bands and just enjoying their joy and making music without worrying about whether or not this will be a hit single or not. If you want to hear some brilliant lyrics and music, look into The Replacements.

I loved this song when it first came out, but sorta "let it go." Just rediscovered it a month ago and I've been playing it at least 3 or 4 times a day since. It's got that Nine Inch Nails sound, that funky grunge yet dark and brooding. It's just not what I can seem to find much "new" of these days. This isn't even "new," but it's feeling "new again" so I'll take it. Metric just flatout kicks ass.

their music is so good, they're so tight that they almost sound like a smaller band, or even a d.j. but their basically a 5 piece band(when emily hits the guitar or piano + vocals. I was so amazed to see them live, and that they were an actual full on band.

I loved the appearance of the big black slab starting around 1:25 or so in the video. That's the 'Sentinal' from Arthur C Clark's 2001 A Space Odessy and the symbolism, given the Occupy Movement (which I support), is perfect. Really adds to the impact of the song and its title - Youth Without Youth. In the story 2001 the Sentinal 'educated' the proto humans of 3 million years back and took Dave Bowman onto the galactic highway at the end of the movie. The time's right for a new awakening.
