Found you from the half life savior, and to find we agree that metro is a masterpiece is a cherry on top.

Dude, the KZbin algorithm has absolutely been crushing it lately, I’m honestly super happy to have found this video. Well done! Edit: I just realized that this is the same channel as the Half life “Savior” run, well done with that too!

Yea I also watched the savior vid and clicked on the channel to see if he had other content. And saw that he made this one, pretty awesome.

I played every single metro game from start to finish and i can't wait to re-play them once more and this time with DLC's since my spending budget had only covered the main games🎉🎉

These games did so good at building a lore/world/vibe/ immersion. I love it so much. I actually enjoyed the first 2 games more than the newer "open world style" one.

One of my favorite video game franchises aside from Half-Life. Loved the books as well.

One thing I love about the metro series is how realistically it depicts human behavior and politics, especially in times of crisis. In most other post-apocalyptic media you’d see the world existing in more or less complete anarchy, the majority of the population resorting to banditry, and small pockets of civil settlements throughout. Instead metro shows what I think is far more likely, people being pretty quick on the uptake, fairly quickly organizing and creating some amount of stability and decent living conditions. At that point power centralizes and accumulates, nations and factions form and expand until all the cracks are filled and they’re butting up against each other. At that point, the leadership forgets how fragile their situation is and takes on shortsighted, destructive endeavors for the sake of short term gains and more power. War is the most wasteful project humans have ever undertaken, and in such a small, fragile world with finite resources, that has to maintain such a delicate balance for continued human existence, all the waste and tragedy of war is amplified. With every station burned, tunnel overrun, person that dies, bullet fired, medkit used, lightbulb shattered, or bit of infrastructure destroyed you can *feel* the world get that much smaller and the resources get that much more scarce. The metro is a perfect microcosm for examining human conflict

the conclusion was so on point, cause everything he mentioned the gaming industry turned in to, Predatory, greedy, stagnant, boring...it's sad.

I'd like to hear your opinion on Exodus. Some ppl hate it for not being "the same as 2033 and/or Last Light" however I love it especially because of that!.. granted Exodus' DLCs were not that good...
@joris-rietveld Жыл бұрын
I'm also a bit obsessed with the metro series (metro2033: 63.9 hours, metro last light: 184.4, metro2033 redux:106.3, metro last light redux: 191.3 metro exodus: 807.7), I recently revisited the 2 original ones (for achievements, I already have them all on redux). Just the amount of detail that they put in is incredible. you can clearly see that they hand craft everything in the maps. What was your opinion about exodus? I truly loved the dead city and volga and hope the next installment will also be great.

Before even watching this video I can say with absolute certainty that Metro 2033 when I first played it was such a haunting and amazing experience, and I personally would put it higher than even Half Life for its environmental storytelling and amazing atmosphere. This franchise deserves all the love it gets and more frankly

2033 was such a great game, and knowing the hardship the 4A went through only made it so much better. Last Light was great, and Exodus, while different was such a good game, I’m thinking now it’s about time I give them a replay.

Metro 2033 is my favorite game of all time. I didn't like Last Light as much and didn't try the redux as I felt it made the graphics too cartoonish and to away from the horror of the original. I do like the 3rd one as well. But the first one is just the greatest in my eyes. Perfect atmospheric game.

Metro games are immersive with well thought out immersive world design, but they aren't remotely close to being near the most immersive games. Even 4A Games' Arktika 1 game is many times more immersive than anything the Metro series has produced.
@Saint_Jam5 жыл бұрын
Fair enough; I would simply say the Metro series is one of the best, not just for the immersion, but for how the people are portrayed and with how they interact and live within their world. From the individuals to the "nations" and their ideologies of the Metro. However yeah, one could argue that realism/immersion is better presented by other franchises.
