Been playing today on PSVR2 and its absolutely amazing. Thursday my PS5 Pro arrives and I'm gonna give it a 2nd playthrough on that. And we still got Behemoth and Alien on the horizon, great times to be a VR gamer

@@YoBrand15 If you got the enhanced versions of 2033 and last light, you could enable ranger mode, which added some difficulty. And did you then play on hardcore too, it was even more hard. Less ammo and filters, so you had spend money careful in the shops to buy items you needed.

The regular 2D Metro games make me motion sick faster than just about any other FPS, I can not imagine how bad it would be with this. But, glad to hear it looks good, just wish I could play this stuff.

You should keep trying until you get accustomed to VR. Little stints that last longer and longer. Once you get ya VR legs you'll ne able to play allmost anything without feeling dodgy

@@riansillett2771 I've literally been using VR since the 1990s, owned every Oculus unit since DK1. It's not an issue of not trying hard enough, it's an inner ear balance that about 20-40% (no one knows for sure) of people who use VR can not overcome. I have friends who use my VR stuff without any issues, but for me, any slightly movement forward that doesn't match what is happening in real life is almost instant sickness. Also, as stated above, just regular 2D FPS games often do the same thing, just like how I get easily car sick, etc. With that said, I can take prescription drugs, these patches meant for cruise ships, which let me use VR without motion sickness - perhaps that is what people mean by VR legs, because with that patch I feel like I'm going to get sick but I don't. But without that patch, I'll literally throw-up and be sick for half a day if I try to push it at all.

I have a PC with a 4080 graphics card, but i get annoyed at the constant updates required for virtual desktop streamer, but it's cross buy if I get the Quest version.

graphically it should look the same as they're both on XR2 gen2, the real difference is the Quest3's pancake lenses.

No progression but there is different versions of guns to be found. No crafting. You pick up ammo but only handle magazines/clips for the weapons

Hey GT. How do you assess your approach of playing on quest 3 first and then PSVR2?? I think this is very interesting choice that you got to make. On one hand you play on quest 3 and then you can appreciate the improvements that psvr2 adds. But on the other hand playing a game like this in not its best possible state with most impressive experience with haptics, does it not make you miss out on a amazing 1st impression?? Yeah and going from psvr2 to standalone version might ruin the standalone impression similar to how 60fps first to 30fps makes 30 fps undesirable.

I’ve read all of this and the approach was in the order I got access. That’s all there is too it. When it comes to your point on ruining one platform to playing on a another, for example would playing on PCVR might ruin PSVR2, it’s not really an issue for me unless there is a technical issue. I still play my gameboy, master system, ps5 for call of duty. I know the strengths of all the vr systems. I know the current best examples and worst so I speak on each platform individually for strengths and weaknesses. Personally I think playing mobile VR with this freedom at this quality is incredible.

Excellent review GT! This got me pretty hyped actually. I was a bit on the fence about this title as it would be my first time dipping my toes into the waters of the Metro series. After watching your review however this looks like the perfect title to tide me over until Behemoth drops. Batman was incredible. Add in Metro and Behemoth and it is just a fantastic time to be a VR user. We are eating good this season that is for sure!

I'll be getting this on the 7th cause I don't preorder, but I'm glad to hear it's solid. 👌 I still gotta finish Batman, Nomad 1.0, and the Arizona Sunshine remake, but I'll still be buying Metro even if it takes me a week (or more) to get to it. I was excited for this but now I just don’t feel that excitement anymore, it looks good, but I don’t know I’m on the fence now for some reason that I can’t quite put my finger on. I think I’ll probably just go ahead and pick it up tbh and I’ll probably wonder why I ever felt this way, I mean I’m wondering now tbh, I think it may be the samey locations, which makes sense as you’re always in the metro, but I haven’t seen much variance in set pieces and just a bit worried it’s gonna feel like a quest game with nicer graphics on PC…

Don't forget that the Quest 3 version is also cross-buy. Meaning. You buy it on the Quest 3 but you also get the PC version with your purchase. To me that is the best value for money.

A cautionary tale for current and prospective Meta Quest VR headset owners: I'm now on day 29 of Meta holding my Quest headsets hostage. I've been using Oculus/Quest devices from the day they started making them (10 years ago?), and I have not been required to give my date of birth to Meta in all this time. But they recently demanded my DOB under threat of disabling my Quests, and they made good on that threat 29 days ago. Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and you will have no defense against it. Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.
