A shopping list on the back of an old receipt is good enough for me.

Exactly. When you're so involved in these developments, you often cannot discern the good ideas from the toys anymore. Most of the things shown here make shopping more complicated and inconvenient. Sometimes, the simplest things are the best... the only thing I could see facilitating things would be automatic payment, which interestingly enough is about the only thing they left out here.

This one made my day, its so funny an highly unrealistic. ^^ this is a complete view from customer sight, but not an inch of the interests of the shop-management. and some of these visions are quite comlicated.

@StrangeWizzard Yeah, that's hilarious. If the cash register can read all the items then it can "deactivate" them. Actually, in the way we understand RFID today a real "Future Store" would not have a "deactivating" process as I assume every item with RFID would have a random serial number so that the store's computers would NOT set a shop lifting alarm off after the item has been paid for.

no not really. u wont have to deactivate products because every single item will have separate number, even if u buy 2 same items they will have different number, which means u can easly go back to the store and continue shopping with items u alread paid and the scanner wont "beep" :) U could deactivate if u want to sell the item to other person and want to use your own EPC (generated by RFID system) number.

If this is future shop and the cart knows shopper after the card reading then the payment must be automatically from bank account. But cashier?

There are so many fails on that idea, with the display on the customers trolley being the worst. the display unit is attached to the trolley so in effect that trolley will be going outside in bad weather and its also a opportunist theft risk. Why would you have to pay a cashier? Surely its more logical to use a touch screen with a member of staff available should any problems arise
