The construction of the second metro line in Warsaw began on 16th august 2010 and was preliminary completed with the opening of 7 stations on 8th march 2015. More extensions on both ends are in construction. The M2 runs with a length of 6,1 km from "Rondo Daszyńskiego" via "Rondo ONZ", "Świętokrzyska", "Nowy Świat - Universytet", "Centrum Nauki Kopernik", "Stadion Narodowy" to "Dworzec Wileński". Between the stations "Centrum Nauki Kopernik" and "Stadion Narodowy" the river Vistula is crossed below. The line is served by modern Siemens Inspiro trains only.
