Is there a game, other than perhaps racing games, that is more beautiful to speedrun? This game and increasingly the series is made for going fast, rewarding with secrets when you do (the Kraid thing was really surprising to me!) and totally enabling a high skill ceiling (the movement right after speed boost is astounding).

Th reason varia suit doesn't block cokd in dread is Samus has mutated more into a metroid, so her weakness overpowers varias effectiveness. Jk idk if that's true that's just something I thought

This game is so fun. I've only gotten to play it a few times, but even then, I enjoyed getting my time under 3 hours. It just feels really good to run around in. The movement is really fluid.

how much time do load screens take over the whole run? seems like more than 5 min. i remember the huge load times beteween areas bugging me while playing this game.

The load times are honestly the one problem I have with Dread even as a casual game. I can't imagine how frustrating they must be when you try to speedrun it.

I can see how the commentary could imply otherwise, but slide jumping is an intended mechanic. It was discussed on the official "Metroid Dread Report" blog, and is required for some dev-intended sequence breaks.
