They are right about the game's atmosphere. I played this a few years back and the SA-X chases scared the soul out of me. I'm not into horror games but this game NAILED the feeling of pure fear and isolation. AND THIS IS A GAMEBOY GAME!

I have to admit, it's kinda nice seeing that my favourite Metroid game is more or less the only one that isn't just totally bent over and broken by sequence breaking, it's just pure efficiency and excellent gameplay that makes it work. When I was a kid, if I had heard of the speedrunning community (if it was a thing in the early 00s...) I'd probably have started speedrunning the game - I did get to the point where I was 100%-ing it in a single play session (of course, that was about triple the current WR, but for someone playing casual without community support, triple the WR isn't exactly shameful.)

They're doing a Prime sequel for a 3D Metroid release, but decided to remake Metroid 2 (after shutting down a perfectly good remake) for their 2D release, I'd much rather a Fusion sequel, keep the Fusion suit design too, it's the best one.

I have a story about Yakuza. I bought my GBA and a copy of Fusion from eBay back in 2002. On the day I got it I sat down and played it for HOURS without stopping. I got to Yakuza and died several times so I put it down. The next day I started it up to find that there were NO saves. I was terrified that I had lost all of it! Not too deterred I went at it again and the same thing happened. I made sure to save every chance I got (absolutely sure I had saved before which is why I was terrified) and died multiple times to Yakuza again. I returned to the title screen and made sure my save was there. I turned it off and back on and the save was gone! The cart I had bought had a bad battery. :( So I had a Metroid game that wouldn't hold a save. Fortunately, I was able to contact Nintendo and get a replacement that DID work. I think it was a later version because the cart label was different.

Infinite bomb jumping is not possible, the game just does not allow you to bounce from a bomb mid air. if you are on the ground the bomb does bounce you.

@@JRP2234 To my understanding, it is not about being mid-air. You can be effected by a bomb blast *once* before landing, regardless of where or why. There is a part in 100% when you spring ball jump, mid air bomb, and then jump back to the bomb before it blows. This gives you enough height to get into an "exit only" tunnel you cannot normally reach.

DarkonFullPower you can be affected by bombs multiple times in the air, but it’s effect is pretty small, up to around half a block gained. There are very few places where we can use midair bombs because of its small effect
