I was totally expecting lyrics for Kraid's Hideout. It totally lends itself to run of your running gags, since the notes line up perfectly at the start like: "Ta. king-a. dump-on. the-toi. let."

At 8:03 there is secret passage to go down to the room just before Kraid's...on the floor in the middle, the left block, use bomb...I played this game more than the years I've been alive haha!!

Seeing this game after so long brings back fond memories. For some reason, even though I love metroid, I've never 100%ed this game. By the way, getting the extra two energy tanks will refill your health but not expand it. Metroid II also has two of these extraneous tanks.

@DanTheEnigma Yeah, if you were like me and played the original Metroid when it first came out everyone knew what the bosses looked like. Fast forward to SNES. The first time I fought Ridley I was totally blown away. Couldn't believe how much better they designed him. The Kraid fight came and was met with nearly the same reaction from me and my brother. He was huge! At that point you really had never seen bosses that big in a game before.

Getting 100% in Kraid's Lair is actually really short and easy if you know exactly where to go. If you look up a detailed map you could see what I mean. There are only a couple missile tanks, and two energy tanks, with one being in Kraid's room. : )

Metroid was such a cool concept for a game. The concept came from mixing Mario (linear side scrolling) with Zelda (non-linear exploration) and doing a space theme. Kid Icarus was made at the same time as an antiquity themed game but for whatever reason, that game didn't work as well as Mario, Zelda, and Metroid.

Ther is 8 energy tanks in the game but only 6 work i got everyone on them even the one in Kraids battle room but not the one in Ridleys Hideout with the hallway and invisisble floor to het the tank in the battle room you have to bomb jump into the wall from the raised box or just do what NCS did

There's a much easier way to get the energy tank in Kraid's room. Stand on the platform, as far right as possible (NOT the slightly higher platform next to it), make sure the tank is visible - roll into a ball, set down a bomb, and hold down the right arrow button. It'll roll you directly into the tank.

To get that energy tank, you need to do a bomb jump, but from the right of the platform. It needs to propel you to the right so you can collect the tank with the momentum to get into that spot

They also have extra energy tanks in Metroid 2 as well... Actually, there might just be one extra now that I think about it. And it has the same rooms-that-look-alike issue that this game does. Still fun, though. You should definetly try it sometime.

When you grabbed the Energy Tank, the Kraid music went away to be replaced with the standard Metroid music. Kraid wasn't the enemy in this level, that last Energy Tank was.
