I still think he was cloned post fusion AGAIN, cause if you recall, he opened his eyes while he was frozen before the X came in and sucked him dry. But he is Metroid's most iconic villain, and he's important to the Space Pirate Lore, so I'm pretty sure if they make more metroid, he'll be back somehow.

@SSTGproductions this game is canonically before prime, so he later became meta ridley in the prime series, and finaly TRULY died as Omega Ridley in Prime 3, only to have his DNA cloned by an X in Fusion, which is canonically the last game in the Metroid series.

@Pyroground Dark Samus was eradicated in Metroid Prime 3, which takes place before Metroid II: The Return Of Samus. When Phazze was destroyed, so were all Phazon based beings, including Metroid Prime(AKA Dark Samus, who is Metroid Prime in the form of Samus' Phazon suit from Prime)

he will be back as ridley-x, the x can mimic samus exactly by just a few pieces of samus's suit. i would guess part of his body is left behind after the battle of ridley x and voila! there he is again.

@Lager200 No, Ganon has died in nearly every Zelda game he's in. In the original Legend of Zelda, he was reduced to a pile of ashes. In ALttP, he was killed again. games, he gets killed AGAIN. Like you said, he was killed in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. The only appearances in which he WASN'T killed were Ocarina of Time and Four Swords Adventure. In both of those cases, he was sealed away.

@JoeCallahan Well, we're talking about a giant, fire-breathing dragon, that flies, and can regenerate flesh by eating other flesh. For all we know, he could have transfered his memories after he died into the cells on Samus' suit, or even transfered his sub-conscience to them. My new theory is that he is just meant to be evil. Plain and simple. That no matter the situation, he will always take the bad guy rout.

@Tristan71396 The Ridley thing. He never died. He was given a new body by his fellow space pirates then he gained a new armor due to him taking in Phazon. Basically Prime series is how he was coming back.

In Fusion, the X parasite only inffects Ridley's body because it was on the Galactic Federation's ship with Samus on it. Leads one to wonder, what or better yet, why, did they have his body?

a clone of Ridley. accidental too. when they cloned him, he came in his baby form. they didnt know it was him and tried to keep him as a pet, not knowing he was in fact, a vicious killer.

@blzdout Yeah, and in Metroid too. Ridley wasn't on Metroid 2, Prime 2 Echoes nor Prime Hunters. But he's still the most recurring villain in the series. Hasn't this game shown how he could do that ? Hasn't Prime proved that he could still be rebuilt as a badass cyborg ? And yeah, Ridley X, too.

Well, canonically, he'd only come back one more time after this death, and even then he's more of a zombie since his corpse was reanimated by the X. Spoilers for Dread He doesn't even show up in Metroid 5, so it seems like what you see here is his final death.

@blzdout actually, the Pokemon was quite off, as I just realized it only really applies to the anime(TR only appears in R/B/Y/G/S/C/FR/LG/HG/SS in terms of the games), as for LoZ, Ganondorf always shows up some other time down the line, but he's not in ALL of the games, just like Ridley's only not present in Metroid Prime: Hunters, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid II:The Return of Samus

This is my theory. Ridley is damaged in Metroid 1 He is repaired then damaged again in Prime 1 He is cloned using phaazon during Prime 2 He gets damaged in Prime 3, but doesn't die because Omega is a clone. He fully recovers during Metroid 2 He actually DIES in Super Metroid He is cloned again in Other M and is reduced to a corpse. His corpse is taken to BSL and gets infected by X in Fusion, where he dies for the last time.

This is just one more piece of evidence that goes to show, the ultimate baddy in the Metroid series is:...*drumroll* Mama Metroid. Mother Brain would undoubtedly fail, Ridley was eaten (for lack of a better term), the Omega Metroid is lower on the evolutionary scale...about the only two that would stand a chance are either Dark Samus or the SA-X....but then again the SA-X IS an X parasite, and would probably be eaten :3

What I don't get is why Ridley immediately attacks Samus when he sees her. I'm no expert on cloning, but I don't think memories are transferred to a clone, so Ridley shouldn't even know who or what Samus is. Heck, from his perspective, she actually HELPED him earlier (killing the wasp hive that Ridley drinks the nectar out of to power up). I think it would've been awesome if Ridley actually joined sides with Samus AGAINST the Queen Metroid (then maybe got taken out at the end of the fight).

He'll be back, whether it's in another regular Ridley, another Meta Ridley, or a Meta Ridley variant different from Omega, he'll be back. Bowser and Ganondorf have supposedly died how many times now? Let's face it, Metroid without Ridley would be like Mario Bros. without Bowser, LoZ without Ganondorf, Pokemon without Team Rocket, and Sonic without Eggman. I bet Ridley's final words/screeches to the Queen Metroid were Schwarzenegger's famous line: "I'll be back."
