Metroid Prime 1 Remake COMING 2022 Insider Suggests

Now let’s start backing up: Rumors about the return of the original trilogy of Metroid Prime games on Nintendo Switch have been floating around since at least 2019, when former Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan notably claimed the trilogy had “been long done” with development on Switch. In fact, just this past July, GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb claimed that Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch was “done and Nintendo is holding it.” However, all of that appears to be incorrect. If it's just the first game, then it will need to be a full on remake, rather than remaster to justify it not being the whole trilogy if it's going to cost full price. Still, at least this will be a nice addition to Metroid Prime's 20th anniversary. And with Metroid Dread released this year, I like to think of that game as a 35th anniversary special of the Metroid franchise as a whole. Certainly better than having Federation Force as a 30th anniversary special!

If a remake happens, they have to use some of the unused stuff like how there was supposed to be a boss for the lava area before it was moved to the ice section and the latter area had another boss that was unused.

They really didn't have to devote the time and resources to doing a full remake... playing the Metroid Prime Trilogy via emulators and HD textures in 2021 is fantastic. That's all they had to do.

I feel it would be logical to just port the trilogy next year from prime 4 in 2023. If sales for dread, trilogy and dread work out well regular releases would be very believable. Heck by late 2024 we could get metroid 6! It took them 4 years to make dread so idk.

I don't believe in a full remake of Metroid Prime for Switch. If some part is true it may be an HD remaster likewise Wind Waker or Twilight Princess HD. If it's true, so this is the secret project in which Retro Studios was working on since their last game developed, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, lauched almost 8 years back then for Wii U.

A remake of Prime 1 especially would be great. I hated navigating the world and didn't find the atmosphere to even come close to the 2D games. Backtracking is fine but I found the 3D map to be incredibly cumbersome to use and hard to read that it just became exhausting to play. A lot of my play sessions stopped after about 30 minutes because I got so fed up by just getting to where I want next that I had to take a break. All that I would need is a simple navigation system where you can set a destination room that makes the door of your current room flash subtly on the mini-map so you know where you want to go to reach your goal. No annoying arrows or sparkly trails and shit like that. Just a tiny indicator in your HUD.

Nearly everything Emily Rogers says is true, she said Nintendo would announce a new Switch "very soon" right before the OLED was announced, in spring she said a 2D Metroid was coming in October and she revealed all facts about the Switch down to its smallest details while the console was still known as NX. Go check your facts kid.
