Metroid Prime 4 Is Coming Out Finally...

Nintendo Directs are not something I commonly have on my radar, but being a longtime metroid fan that has spent the last several years waiting for a new prime title, today is a very momentous occasion. What I love about Metroid Prime 4 is the lighting. It’s incredible and was incredible for the Metroid Prime 1 remaster too. They know what they are doing to make a game look good regardless of hardware

They are also rather gameplay and single player focused, so the social gamer isn't interested, and they lack the strong stories/character interactions that typically appeal to female gamers. Basically, you are left with nerds who discovered it at age 12-16 and stuck with it. That's not that big of a demographic.

The best thing on it was MARVEL VS CAPCOM IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK The licensing nightmare that was to make this game to come back. Disney and Capcom hated eahc other on a level that was out of this world. This being release is so shocking i still cant believe it We though this thing was SO DEAD. Like this was so dead. Like Disney and Marvel hated capcom so much and Capcom hated them even more. This is like asking Republicans and Democracts to shake hands and go out and have a drink and get drunk together and then go home together sleep together. This is MASSIVE. LIKE out of this world massive. This is a canonical event. This was more unlikely than Half Life 3,Metroid Prime 4 and less likely than Kojima doing another game for Konami. The odds of this happening were so low that it was like 0.'00000000000000001/2%

@@SymbioteMullet Don't quote me on this. I seem to recall Capcom representatives implying that working with Marvel on MVC3 was a bit overbearing. They would pick on minute details, such as Dr. Strange's hand movements. Fast forward to MVC:I, I think there were issues with character selection, ie. not allowed to use X-Men characters. Again, I am fuzzy on the accuracy of this information but this is stuff I recall from the conversations surrounding both these games.

Damn, Metroid Prime 4 really showed a different side of Mutahar I don't think I have ever seen. The fact he is more excited about this than GTV VI of all games really says a lot. I am with him on this one. I have been impatientely waiting for this since 2017 (7 years ago btw if you can believe it, 8 when it is released) when it was first announced. No news, nothing for so many years... then 2019 happened where we got the bad news they have to restart development to hand it back over to Retro Studios, which they should have done from the start but anyways... All we got was speculation videos, predictions for 7 years straight... and now us Metroid fans can breathe a sigh of relief the wait is almost over... WE FINALLY GOT GAMEPLAY and a PROPER trailer! All we need is ONE MORE year and we can finally play this SOB! Just thought of something funny while writing that... It's been SO LONG since we got the announcement (again 7 years) that some of you who were 14 at the time is now 21 😂😂 That is a big chunk of someone's life at that age!!

One thing that got announced that people aren't talking about is Perfect Dark being added to the Switch online service with online multiplayer. Not only is that game a pain to emulate and one that never had online play but it was made by Rare and now the rights to it are owned by Microsoft. So a Microsoft owned game just got released on a Nintendo platform.

@@murderman8578 Not as much now with the recent stuff to decompile N64 games and recompile them for PC but we still don't have 100% accurate emulation with ANY N64 emulator. Stuff is mostly playable but there are still glitches and timing issues.

As frustrating as their business decisions are, Nintendo know how to make quality games. Why care about realistic graphics when 9th gen games feel more like 8.5 gen? Even games over a decade old look good.

The one problem with Nintendo choosing Pokemon for the switch 2 release is that a huge amount of fans are requesting to push the games back till 2026, as it is Pokemon's 30th anniversary, they don't want it rushed, and it will be generation 10. The only Pokemon game that is currently confirmed to come out is Pokemon Legends ZA.

I'm more into zelda games and can't wait to play the new one, but knowing how long people have waited for mp4 and how important of a game it is, I'm a lot more excited to play that one than any other game

Mario and Luigi resurrected from the land of the dead. Metroid Prime 4 will launch before Silksong updates and we finally have a ZELDA game started by the character with its name in the title. To me it's an 8/10 direct for the last year of Switch-only content.

I could see Prime 2 & 3 releasing through a Twitter announcement at some point. Beyond isn't releasing until next year so there's still time for them to come out.

The fact that Nintendo saved Metroid Prime 4 for the last announcement when they had a Zelda AND 2 Mario games announced before it, makes me think that Nintendo is finally realizing that Metroid is actually kinda a big deal.

I think Metroid Prime 4 is going to be a real banger, like one of Nintendo's best games Pikmin 4 and Metroid Dread are two of the greatest games Nintendo has ever made (in my opinion) and i think that is because you notice so much more how the developers WANT to make a really good game and will take the time that it needs. Unlike your Marios or pokemons or zeldas that get new games pushed out frequently because they sell and Nintendo feels they HAVE to make another game in that franchise, although really good games often feel a bit incomplete to me.
