Had a blast on Rivals. Got to Top 500 on console. Now I’m stuck on Overwatch again 😭 Hope the actual game comes out soon. It was refreshing. No toxicity. Just fun.

That’s cause it’s new. People aren’t taking it that seriously yet. Once they play it enough they’ll start to hyper fixate on optimization and balance issues and it will die just like every other “overwatch killer”

Basically people are glorifying this game cause it’s new and exciting to them. Once they’ve played it long enough to hyper fixate on its flaws it’s gonna die down just like every other “overwatch killer” we’ve had. I remember all my friends super hyped for how “Gundam” was gonna destroy overwatch lmao none of them played it for over a month. I give this game 6 months just cause it’s a Marvel franchise.

I thought so many free to play games could replace overwatch but none of them came close until I played rivals. Trust me as of right now it will kill overwatch when it’s launched and overwatch players try it out unless net ease does something really horrible.

Played Rivals... its fun, but i dont really think its fun, because its good, its fun because its new. I will judge the game when it releases and we see the monetization and balance-changes they have made. As it always has been... the only game that can kill a Blizzard game is Blizzard themselfs... and they have been doing speedruns with some of their IPS in recent years

estimating that it will take about 2 months until 90% of people who "quit" ow for this come back. we've seen this with other genres or games that have no or very little competition

@@jermu8706 at least ow has original characters and maps and stuff. Rivals literally copied ow down to the maps and it’s a dumb Marvel franchise. These characters and stories are everywhere. Not only that but it also has a battle pass and a shop, they’re gonna sell skins for bad prices, have bugs, and optimization problems. Also gonna have cheaters and other hackers… so how is it better? I’m pretty sure it’s cause players are being controlled by mob mentality and the loud cries of bug creators who are very hyperbolic about the game and they just reiterate their sentiment without any true logic behind it.

@@SocialExperiment232 Hiya! Player here that quit OW2 back around a month after rammatra came out. I played a bit more for friends until they slowly all just kind of got tired of the game around the time Illiari was out for abit so I wanted to leave a few thoughts on this. The comment reads abit too much like hate for hate sake yet calling out mob mentality at the same time. You are kind of projecting the same exact stuff Rivals haters say. You can be burnt out on Marvel. That is completely fine but most people who are burnt out are burnt out on specifically MCU related stuff. That is whats everywhere. Comic inspired marvel things are not all over the place and the game doesn't present itself like an AD for the MCU. It also seems like you just kind of hate Marvel. If a Blizzard made a game in the OW universe then you're not going to complain that it should of been original characters over the existing OW cast will you? Every game has a battle pass and a shop. Trying to use this as a slight against a new FTP game is like getting upset thunderstorms come with lightning strikes. Prices im sure will be pretty much par for the course on what other games do at this point. I can just hope they are better but at the very least they will be references to things I enjoy rather than just Genji randomly being a divine monkey in a skin. Cheaters and hackers are something that really depend on how the game tackles that kind of shit. The thing I give companies slack for is how slow they are to do ban waves. Map design wise there is only so many ways you can honestly design a map around a payload moving. Know how many games have the exact same layout for a king of the hill style mode? OW is not unique in this regard. It was just the biggest to do it. We're not going to say Genshin Impact were the originators of the gacha concept because it makes the most money. Now why I enjoy Rivals? My friends and I are big Marvel nerds so any time we can get together to just be nerds we will do just that. Having two tanks in the game brought my old Rein main friend back who had 4k hours on Rein alone. He didnt play anyone else in all of OW1 and wouldnt play OW2 solely because he is not tanking solo. It is something that is new, does some things different, and offers a similar feel thats not completely the same. If its not for you then thats perfectly fine.
