Excellent review of Metro. I've been with them almost a year, and was about to jump to Mint Sim a month or so back. Then Metro improved their plans, and I thought about the customer service I would be losing and decided to stay. I've had good experience with their service reps (phone & chat).

David Leigh David are you serious where do you even get customer service at all I am not on planet Mars and I still cannot get ahold of anyone through Metro PCS not by email not by phone and certainly try to not call the quote store people as he would only keep laughing and humiliating me and acting like a real jerk never returning my calls plus ripping me off and pocketing the money and refusing to give me a receipt and told me I have to prove to him that I paid for everything they have all that on their computer but yet he pretends that he knows nothing

plasticmatt477 I've actually used 720p HD Video streaming without any problems or issues at all whatsoever. It all depends on your location. You are only defaulted at 480p DVD, but you are able to go above 1080p HD Video Streaming.

Just go to certain videos on KZbin and switch to HD viewing, that's if that particular video will allow you to view at 720p HD or 1080p HD viewing of videos. Other than that, I'm on the 50 Dollar Unlimited plan with MetroPCS with no option to switch off from Defaulted 480p, but I am still able to view at 720p to 1080p HD video streaming, depending on the area I'm located out in. Even T-Mobile-MetroPCS Representatives have said to me that I would still be able to view videos at HD 720p/1080p Video streamings(they just do that to all of their customers on the 50 Dollar Unlimited plan for default at 480p DVD quality, but you are allowed to go above 480pDVD quality though).

Service is not bad although the internet connections do go up and down. Worst I've had was 6 mbps while the best is 65 mbps. I'll normally get between 15 mbps and 25 mbps (in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.) Phone signal is great. I have not had a single dropped call so far.

Great video Stetson! I still have my 4-line postpaid family plan with T Mobile. I have one line with prepaid T Mobile. I also have one line on the $30 dollar plan on Metro PCS. I will tell you this. With Metro PCS I have no working data where I live in Iowa. I am on a "partner network" where I live. I'm not roaming! But all of my T Mobile devices including the prepaid line the data Does work! So I'm not sure why and Metro customer service is not sure why either. They've had me change APN settings. I have voice and sms but no cellular data. Until I get back into actual T Mobile coverage. So just a heads-up for other Metro PCS customers. If one travels into "partner coverage" you will have voice and basic text only. Always appreciate your channel Stetson! Mark in Iowa.

Mark Smith It's the whole network of T-Mobile-MetroPCS Nation network. Same network, same features, full everything else, same partner coverage as each other.

Mark Smith It could all depend on the cell phone device that you bought from MetroPCS and it not having all full network featurings or upgrades that T-Mobile-MetroPCS Currently now has(the same going for actual T-Mobile phones). Some towers that T-Mobile-MetroPCS have built/upgraded are now Voice over LTE only towers. I actually saw all of this information right off of T-Mobiles website.

T-mobile is buying the network operator they use in Iowa for coverage. So at some point you will get data there on MetroPcs as it will become native T-mobile coverage.

My friend has T-Mobile's old simple choice plan at the moment but she never travels and we get very good T-Mobile service in our area (I have T-Mobile but I travel more), so I think she should go with MetroPCD since she won't need roaming or anything like that that you get with postpaid service. She's paying way too much, too. It's like $75/mo for her at the moment with all those taxes and fees and she only has 2GB of data so she runs out all the time LOL. I'm like yoooo just unlock your phone since it's paid off already and go with Metro for the $50 unlimited plan!

John Legere hi there John and good morning I don't know if you were the one that uploaded the video but I really tried to work with this company I am very upset the guy that took care of me totally ripped me off refused to give me a receipt to break down how much it was for the phone I told him exactly what I wanted I told him I wanted unlimited and I'm being charged for any over usage and even they took and turned off my phone when I told him specifically what I wanted he lied to me the whole time I was there and then when I called back to ask for my receipt and ask that he changed my plan for 3 months now he keeps saying he cannot do it and he's too busy I hate that store and I hate this company it's total BS and too much aggravation to go and do it here so maybe I'll post a video on KZbin

I got MetroPCS when they had a deal on 3 lines, 2GB each. First line $30 and each additional was $25, total of $80. But now, they have even better deal where you can get 3 lines unlimited for $90. The problem is that it applies to new customers only. So, my option is to cancel one line, and then come back as a new customer. The only problem is that I have to get a new SIM card with a new phone number.

The data maximizer dont work if your using an unlocked device.. my Samsung unlocked note 9 I just added to metropcs and I can stream 1440p video all day, yes it does eat up my data alot faster, and the data maximizer is on when I got to my account on the metro website... I think the data maximizer only works on metropcs branded phones.. or am I wrong?

Interesting find! I'd probably try contacting Metro customer support and see what they have to say. Could be related to your device, although I would think it would more likely be related to some account preference.

I took my Factory Apple unlocked iPhone 6s Plus to Metro PCS last week, signed up. I was on iOS 10.3.3 everything with Metro works except Visual voicemail and new voicemail notifications. It worked before I left the store but a next day it was gone. It worked fine before signing up with Metro PCS. They had me update to iOS 11.2.5 it didn't help!! I setup as a new phone through iTunes. It still doesn't work. I tried reset network settings, hard reset, toggled airplane mode on and off. I called from another phone left voicemail deleted it, the Big red dot still there and no VM notifications or visual VM. Only thing they is a square that says voicemail. You click on it to VM. Just for the heck of it I dropped by cricket store today. The Mgr put in his personal sim and it worked fine. I don't want cricket I just want Metro PCS VM to work. I had visual VM with Tmo before signing up why is it not working with Metro they are the same as Tmobile. Please help!!!

According to speed tests ive run last couple of days, im only getting 4-8 bpms download from Metro PCS and im on their top plan. All lag, pages don't load fully, simply terrible. This just started happening, so i called company, we troubleshot my phone, and they has no explanation. So im switching companies as obviously im being throttled and ive only used 1.5 G so far this month. Im curious if this is happening to others. Maybe the companies benefit in phone sales when we change carriers.

Pamela Vesey They are going through major uogrades to all of their towers throughout the whole USA, country. I've actually gone above 200mbps over where I'm located at with MetroPCS and it being a Sister carrier of T-Mobile(T-Mobile-MetroPCS).

To me having a Moto E on Textnow using the tmobile network is a better deal + KZbin Red or Google Play Music subscription. The cheapest plan is $13.99 for 100MB LTE then Unlimited 2G. NextRadio app works on all Moto phones so data free music right there! But Textnow has a 3GB LTE plan for $27.99 no taxes. Even that is a much nicer deal. It's a tough market for prepaid. Lol metro you were so close! 😞😆✌️

I think WiFi Calling on MetroPCS only works on iPhones because when I had my Nexus 6P on their network, I tried forever to be able to have WiFi Calling but it didn't work.

Thank you! I'm a longtime Metro PCS customer. It is great IF you live in a covered area. I live in a canyon, so have no coverage. This being the case, I was hoping to rely on Wifi to make calls. Unfortunately no one can hear me. I can call, receive texts, video voicemail, call via FB messenger, BUT the outgoing audio just isn't happening. Does anybody have any advice for me? I'm an older lady on a tight budget, so new phone, or change service is not an option at this time. Any other comments or suggestions are fully appreciated. Thank you!

You may consider Google Voice. This way you can use WiFi and cellular data to make and receive calls and texts. A possible solution if you have poor cell service but do have WiFi.

Regalado hi Casey and good morning it is Sunday the 19th of November I totally agree with you I have a very hard time learning this new phone also to try to get ahold of anybody that is alive and breathing is nearly impossible unless you physically go into the store where that person just kept trying to treat me like an idiot when all I asked for was basic things like transferring my contacts onto the new Metro Samsung Android I did not like the fact that I can never repeat never call on the phone to their corporation it's a huge hassle and not worth spending all day with such a grivation

Metro pcs is THE SHIT!!!!!! ived had them since summer 2015, and when I switch to T-Mobile I got loyalty discount and my credit scored improved with them!!!(Since I was with t-mobile)

DopeAsToast it's a cheaper version of T-Mobile. plans start at $30 & go up to $60 . You can do $40 and get 5GB of LTE. Or unlimited at $50 . so if you get good T-Mobile coverage check them out.

Now called Metro By T-Mobile. The $40Plan now has 10GB of 4GLTE. $50 has Unlimited With 35GB 4GLTE, 5GB Mobile Hotspot & Google 1 Storage. $60 includes all of the above plus Amazon Prime. Both plans have WiFi calling and Voice Over LTE. $60 includes 15GB Mobile Hotspot & Nonuse of Data while playing music.

yoheff988 you are totally correct I am so pissed off I have tried to call and ask for my damn receipt and he would not give it to me what is wrong with that big picture of an a****** and then started to humiliate me over the phone by laughing hysterically and saying the boss just came to pick up the money from the till yesterday and then started talking like a f****** robot just like a robot like one word at a time then I asked to speak to his supervisor she was laughing hysterically and saying oh I can't help you tomorrow because I have to come in 5 minutes earlier give me a break I need to turn on the computer so you'll have to wait till Monday can you believe that b*******

When I visited 2 separate Metro branches, both store clerks lied to me and tried like hell to load me up with their ridiculously high priced accessories. I could not get a straight answer out of either. When I bought, the clerk promised to load all my data, pics and contacts, but after I paid and he couldn't sell me the accessories he told me they usually charge for that and there would be a fee. Only after bitching did they do that they promised. Both told me Straight Talk was crap and their system was so much better, now I can't make anywhere close to the connections I could on Straight talk. Maybe some day when they get it together I'll try again but for now I'm switching back.

MetroPCS isn't full feature T-Mobile service. Here is how T-Mobile prioritizes their network: Postpaid>Prepaid>Deprioritized. Metro falls under Prepaid so the speeds will probably be lower on Metro compared to T-Mobile Postpaid.

Spike You can still get actual prepaid from T-Mobile directly but metro is far better on price & it's still owned by T-Mobile so the actual T-Mobile prepaid is there for I don't know why.

Still overpriced in US.. In my country, I pay $15 USD a month /with 12mo contract, I get unlimited high speed 4G data, the speed is not limited, always getting 60Mbps up at least. 3CA is enabled on iPhone7 (up to 250Mbps), WiFi calling, Hotspot sharing... When can we expect to see these kinds of plan coming out in US?

Eh, I don't think think anyone can beat T-Mobile's $30 5g/4G Unlimited plan W/ Unlimited text and 100 Minutes (Google Voice FTW). It has all the perks of the other plans, Music Streaming and Data saver have made it so I can get about 8 gigs of 4g... I mean If I use any other plan I'm just paying more for less data.

another odd thing is the fact that I have passed my allotted 5 gigs and still have fast speeds. My phone tracks my data as well as T-Mobile (minus music apps and Data Saver) I have used 21 Gigs of data Aug.14 - Sept. 4 T-Mobile states 9 Gigs. I took a speed test, 9.9 Down, 6.2 Down. They haven't slowed me down to 2G. Dunno why but I can still stream Videos with eases.

Where I live in my city,I'm lucky if I get 2 bars on my phone everyday,all day. Constant dropped calls/calls won't go through Constant poor signal for internet. Poor customer service. I'm switching back to straight talk. I wouldn't recommend metro PCs to anyone unless you want to be aggrivated constantly. Half the places I go to in my city,I have no signal or service all the time I'm very dissastisfied. I don't see how companies who offer crappy service like this can get away with this

I hate MetroPCS is the only Carrier to lock your simcard to only one IMEI phone. low cost Best ZTE Phones are nice. Under $99 or Free with Port In with a working AT&T or their MVNO Phone Numbers. After a few months for your new phone unlocked by the MetroPCS App. Recommend to change to other lower cost T-Mobile MVNO or even to AT&T Cricket for Unlimited monthly for the same monthly price.
