MetroTaifun® is one of the world’s leading automatic waste collection systems, which enables automatic solid waste collection based on pneumatic conveying technology.
MetroTaifun® ensures cleanliness, safety, space and energy savings. The use of Automatic Waste Collection system increases waste sorting and recycling. Communal areas are safer without garbage truck traffic. In addition, odours, pests and emissions related to waste collection are minimized.
The system works like a giant vacuum cleaner: conveying waste & recyclables through underground/above-ground pipelines that can extend up to 4 km (2.5 miles) from the waste collection point. The system may include both residential waste collection stations and bigger commercial waste collection stations. The waste ends up in into containers in a waste transfer terminal: one pipe, multiple containers for different fractions.
The key in MetroTaifun is the small Ø300mm pipe: it enables fast and easy installation and energy consumption only 1/3 compared to traditional AWCS with Ø500mm pipe. The unique Formator technology reduces large waste sacks to fit into the small pipe.
MetroTaifun® is suitable for all applications including e.g. hospitals, residential areas, industrial areas, shopping centers, sports complexes, hybrid and mobile systems, hospitals, airports.

Great looking technology, but I was thinking about the clogs the whole time. People will put the wrong item in the wrong bin and eventually create a clog. You'll have to keep a maintenance guy to check the system on a daily basis to make sure no clogs appear and, if they do, clear the clogs.
@fetB
@fetB 2 жыл бұрын
the access hole seems to be the sie of the pipe so someone probably couldnt even insert something that could clog or it would show at the entry point, at which point residents could just submit the notification. The wrong type or hazardous material is probably a bigger problem, though that exist anyway

I hate fancy looking cosmetic solutions. Apart from filling their pockets, what those guys claim to solve? No traffic of garbage trucks? Sorting in source not in destination? When it will amortize itself? An idiot designed a "green" postbox and another idiot placed it into our apartment. The claim is, postman will put the post to this "green" postbox, so postman will not use elevator and will decrease carbon emission. That stupid "green" postbox is plugged to power grid and running 24/7 . There is also another infra / network running 24/7 to support secure access to this box. And these do not produce any carbon! And the fun part is, no one ever use that stupid thing.

@@mehmetbekirbirden6858 1. The elevator should be powered by green sources of energy, nuclear power is best. 2. This system prevents trash trucks stopping every 5 feet through the whole area and instead puts it in one location. 3. It’s cool

If the same tube is used it means that recyclables rub off any residue from organic waste, reducing the quality of recyclable material or even making it unusable.

There are many faults like if we compress the mixed waste it may contain batteries and they may burst and cause fire and if all waste will go through same pipe it may get mixed or get blocked it is very risky

@novigradian1284
@novigradian1284 3 жыл бұрын
This is a perfect system for India. Much of the reason for garbage pollution in India is because trucks and other collection vehicles cannot get where they need to due to unplanned, narrow and congested roads. This system just requires underground pipes and large industrial fans, nothing too complicated or high tech/ expensive. You dont have to bother with relocation and large scale demolition of structures as would be required for building wide roads for Garbage trucks. You only have to lay underground pipes once and they would work for a very long time.

0:13 wait a minute in order to vacuum trash away in a city without garbage trucks you have to pay? Can't that be covered in taxes or something, this is dumb, I would rather leave the trash near one of those posts and have someone else deal with it.

@@GFSwinger1693, well do you think those pile of garbage will move its body by itself..? I was not questioning..I was criticizing..it is obvious to me, that unless it was powered by gravity ...we will need crazy amount of energy compared to conventional way, that is using truck, every moving part of conveyor or somekind will exert an additional weight .. Which by all means create a wasteful system, my conclusion is undeniably right.

@@GFSwinger1693, You seemed to be easily amazed by that and try to defend it in any way, just because it looks great.. Broaden your view my brother! ...You can not admire an engineering work just because it has a pretty design, it has to be both pretty and work efficiently.... This analogy will help you to depict this problem: A. Having 20 kids go to school all in a single bus. B. All of those 20 kids are driven by their parents to school using each of their parent's car.
