I love Pete…but he sucks, he really sucks. Let him go get his money elsewhere. Get Soto ….back up the brinks truck. Vientos is awesome but he needs some tweaking with his plate discipline. Nimmo talked the talk at home against the Phils and backed it up but nowhere to be heard from on the road.

Mets still have a chance but even if they don't make it, it isn't a big surprise. This is one of the best seasons the Mets have ever had in the sense that they supremely overachieved. This team should be battling for last place right now, not a playoff berth. That the fans put such high expectations on them is the fans problem. Eventually everything balances out.

If the Mets win tomorrow and Arizona loses, does the Mets still have to play Atlanta as they will still be short of the 162 games? or is 162 games not a requirement if the playoffs is already determined?

According to Wardy the best guess scenario would be Mets win and Diamondbacks loose tomorrow for no Monday games. Guessing the 2nd best scenario would be if both Diamondbacks and Mets lost and Braves won it would give the Braves a wild card spot; thus the Braves would hold Chris Sale and Spencer Swellenbach from pitching Monday. Mets would face probably Grant Holes; Bryce Elder or Ian Anderson in those games, as they would need nothing to Atlanta. Sale and Swellenbach would be games 1, and 2 starters in post season.

I think mets will be fine. Tomorrow they'll win. And they'll do enough in the double header to stay in. Diamondbacks lost. Padres smoked them by playing hard to win....not resting, taking it easy. Yanks though in a better situation, have stunk last couple series. They evidently decided to take it easy. Astros helped the Yanks by beating the Guardians and so Yanks got pretty lucky not based at all on their playing well.

I don't think this Yankees team is going to get far in the playoffs but they are better than last year. Stroman is the weak link in their starting rotation.

Mets SNY postgame live should host Wardy, Taylor Twellman and Frank the Tank to really let the audience know how to motivate the fans to winning mentality and even if I say Frank the Tank he shows some emotion but he does show some positive so give this team and fans hope and good analysis

Never know; remember 2022 Cardinals vs Phillies. Phillies barely made it into the playoffs were outscored for 8 innings by Cardinals. Than a lucky hit in the top of the 9th turned into a huge inning. Got the players going and they rolled. If the old statement that sometimes a broken bat hit gets a player going; seems like something could happen that the Mets go snap and play great. Baseball isn't played on paper it is live, with lucky and other things that could go either way. Most year World Series favorites don't win it as it is baseball and anything happens

I was 10 yo in 1986, it's been brutal since. Suddenly I understand the Wilpons approach to this team, it's not only about money, it's something else. However, I do have to admit I enjoyed the last 4 months of baseball, the team fought to the last weekend. There's a base to build a good team, there will be good players available in the offseason, just try to hire hitters that can hit clever enough to get in base, HR are cool, but wins are better. Make a huge bullpen and play Tigers style, Megill can make a decent bullpen pitcher, change stuff, do something! At least management is trying to solve these issues, it can be done. See you in 2025, take care.

I disagree with your post; not a Mets fan but I think you need to be more optimistic. We have 2 more days left and a max of 3 games. There are many ways that the Mets could get in. Shouldn't be thinking about 2025 till the season is over Monday or end of mets post season

The writing is on the wall. Mets are walking dead. It's ground hog day all over again. I knew when Bader didn't try to sac bunt Marte home, that we would lose. That would have put some pressure on Brewers. Are Mets allergic to bunting?

D backs helping out greatly. Braves still need one win unless D Backs lose tomorrow. That would make Monday meaningless for Braves except for seeding and they may prefer the 6th seed
