Only bright side I can see and I’m going to pretend it’s what this is, is this is a strategy. If Arz looses tomorrow and we win we’re in and play brewers and don’t even have to play ATL and can’t stay in Milwaukee. If Arz win and we win we need one in ATL and back to milwakee. If Arz win and we loose we need both in ATL. So magic number was 4 with 5 to go and now it’s 2 and we haven’t won a game. Arz has one left and we have 3. If we can’t get 2 then we don’t deserve it. As much as I hate this last three games it could actually work out really good still. Waiting one more day before I jump ship and off a bridge. Was close till Arz lost in the 9th.

@Stand....A well-reasoned post...Sure, these last three games have been bad, but the METS are nothing if not resilient. And, as I said in my post above, I really believe the METS will be very loose today because they all watched ARI get pasted in the top of the 9th last night at home and realize they have been given a gift. METS are in much better shape than ARI because SD really hates ARI and will play to win + SD is better than ARI and it shows...I would prefer METS & ARI to both win, so METS could go to ATL and win on their field and spray the visitor's locker room with bubbly. I would be great to celebrate on ATL's field and in front of Braves fans...I also really believe the METS will readily beat MIL in Round 1 and maybe even sweep the Brewers

I’ve been saying this for a while, this is not a playoff team. They don’t have an ace, they have very unprofessional hitters, they have a very shaky bullpen. They need to dump Alonso. They need to sign a real professional number one pitcher. Hopefully Senga comes back and he could be your number two pitcher. Peterson could be a number three, I guess Manea number four. They need to sign at least two professional hitters, by professional I mean someone who doesn’t strike out every other time up, and can bat over.280. They need to find at least two middle relievers they can rely upon.

well, the weird thing is that this is the same team a week ago had a great win against philly taking 3 out of 4 , but yes the Mets definitely are pressing as I see they were swinging at pitches into harmless outs while you are 4 and 6 runs down.. The manager is starting to panic with the pinch hitting.. Alonso and Nimmo are definitely pressing the most, the only thing we can say is that theyve gone bad a few times during the season and managed to find a way back, the only question is will they find their way back in time or will the pressure and time run out on them? I dont know, but they need a bit of a reminder to get their perspective back and just try to win today and try your best to forget everything else.. If they cant do it, the season ends either sunday or more likely monday. They all must step back a minute and find their patience one pitch at a time.

METS are loose and ready this morning. Yes, they have played poorly the last three games, but ARI has also and kept the METS in it. The METS slept well after they all watched ARI get beat in the top of the 9th by the Padres (who hate the Diamondbacks by the way) and will be ready for an E Z win today...Something like 8 or 9 to 2 is my expectation for today's METS win. If ARI lose to SD, METS are in with today's win. Going to ATL, I really hope ATL brings Sale on to face METS, but they won't if they clinch today which will be unfortunate because I would expect the METS to easily beat Sale because, although he has had the best year of his career, he is overdue for a bad outing and the METS won their previous game vs Sale with a no decision win over the Braves earlier this Year. As a Red Sox fan, I know Sale is fully capable of getting shelled which he has, albeit on rare occasion, this Year. Once the METS get into the Playoffs, I expect a very good run, possibly even WS...This Team is good

Here is a playoff suggestion: If MLB added a fourth wild card team, all three division winners would receive a first round bye. Wild card team #1 would host wild card team #4 in a one game elimination, as would the #2 wild card host the #3 wild card. The winners of the two wild card games would play in a one game elimination and the winner would move on to the division series and play the top seeded division winner. That way you have really differentiated wild card teams from division winners and have made it more difficult for a wild card team to advance to the next round.

All these "before-the-fact" doomsayers who claim to be METS "fans" are hilarious. This Team has been AWESOME this Year. This Team is resilient, has a great manager, has gotten great pitching and has good bats in the line-up. Yet, 90% + of the posts are negative. People, the METS were NOWHERE on May 29th, and now they are in a great position for the Playoffs and beyond. The Chat is 98% negative and the Comments are 95% negative. Therefore, I am CERTAIN that the METS make the Playoffs and I HOPE they need to go to ATL because, if they do and face Chris Sale, they will beat Chris Sale, although ATL clinching today unfortunately takes Sale off the table for tomorrow.
