Hey this was my first time, my second actually just now. I bumped into the other game where the Mets also rallied in the last inning and now this one. I hadn't ever seen highlights of the Mets winning with the opposing teams commentary. It's pretty fun to see and hear how the other side reacts.

Listening to McCarthy and Kruk just shows how really good the Met booth is with GKR, You’ll never hear them openly root for the Mets. They always give credit to the opposing team and players. This is almost unlistenable.

I've been a Met fan since 1964 so this is not a Phillie fan opinion, but Cohen is as much a homer as any announcer. He roots for them and when there are plenty of shots of him on KZbin jumping out of his seat when a Met homers or strikes out someone in a big spot.

@@edwardcricchio6106 Gary is absolutely rooting for the Mets, but the difference is he’s not a sore loser. These guys do it and the Braves crew is even worse, when the opposition hits a home run, they’re silent. You don’t have to be excited about it, but you can’t literally ignore it like a 5 year old. Gary always calls the game like he’s supposed to. I think Kruk is really funny but he complains too much. But I think he fits the Philly culture well and I mean that as a compliment, I think people from New York and Philly are a lot more similar than people think.

Coming back to this years later. I remember they called Keith out for what he said about the Phillies defensive fundamentals and the sad thing is the Phillies proved him right this series. I'm a Mets fan, but I have a huge soft spot for the Phillies, and I really don't like watching them play bad baseball. I'll take Met wins but I, at least, want Philly to at least come at us with the same energy we bring to them. It seems they rarely have in the past couple of years except for that one series towards the end in Philly last year.

I know commentators are supposed to be more excited when the home team does well, but these guys are so emotionally biased, it's embarrassing. Mets fans are lucky to have GKR in the booth. You'd never hear any of them say something like "This is a big out right here, you know why? These people saying 'let's go (away team)' will sit down and be quiet. Let's hope this is the only thing they got to cheer about all day." They always give props to the away team when they do well and just announce so much more objectively overall.

McCarthy and Kruk are such bush leaguers. Notice how McCarthy doesn't commit to a call until say a home run lands? Or in his hometown gush...only after he's safe in his call, he chanhes cadence and emphasizes the last syllable of each word. And Kruk adds nothing but the obvious sap for the Phillies.
