Emmanuel Clase I can see up there, but Clay Holmes ain’t on Diaz level. Does he strike out more than 50% of batters he faces? Case. Closed.

You can just feel Diaz's confidence brimming. He's not pitching wondering if he can get anyone out. It's amazing to see the difference in his swag and approach now.

Dude met fans did nothing but bash this guy the last few years, just disgraceful
@dashx11032 жыл бұрын
@@ladistar Well, he really struggled in his first season. Probably a couple of things: 1) that was the season with the "new baseballs" that threw off almost everyone's slider. Diaz is dependent on the slider. 2) transition from Seattle to NY is jarring. Even though Diaz was a top professional, he was still a guy in his mid-20s having to adjust to being under a daily microscope. He seems comfortable and in command of his slider In '22 for the first time since the trade. He is just dominant at the moment. Glad Met fans appreciate him now, after all the negativity he had got wade through early in his NY Mets career.

Nimmo REALLY needed this! Going into the Subway Series he and McNeil were like: 1-30 Hopefully he's back now and will contribute the rest of the season like he did in the beginning of the season.
@dizent28852 жыл бұрын
Small detail, but great indicator of the Mets being among the elite teams. When Nimmo hit that dinger, Escobar knew it would leave the yard, but tagged anyway, just to be sure so he could advance if it stays in the ballpark.

Diaz is so dominant that if the Mets can either shift Mr pitchcount degrom to the pen or pay up for another strong pen arm, games will become 7 inning games and advantage mets. As for the marlins, every mets fan remembers 2007, screw them. No mercy

Nooooo he had a good outing ...soft 🍦 hits and the offense picked him up against a very good pitcher
@dashx11032 жыл бұрын
I think Bassitt is a terrific “middle of the rotation” guy. He’s been on a roll lately. Giving up 4 runs last night isn’t a concern. As mentioned by Marc, he was a victim of infield/soft contact hits that led to the 3 run double early. If deGrom stays healthy, Bassitt is a #4 starter. Few teams have a #4 that good.
