When Jesse Winker slid home in the third inning from the Marte double, you can tell Jesse wanted to slam the helmet or do something in grand fashion there 😂. Glad he kept it cool. Can’t be doing too much in the third inning when there’s more ball game to play. But he was definitely plotting something. We cant be asking to see JD Martinez again. Jesse has been smoking the ball and giving the guys that jolt of energy that doesn’t show up in the box score. Jesse Winker is our Tommy Edman at the plate. He won’t die with two strikes and you hate him when he’s not on your team.

Buehler started Wednesday, so Game 7 would be regular rest for him, not short rest (same for Severino, obviously). If the Mets can get it to a Game 7, my hope is that Buehler won’t benefit from the atmospheric conditions at Citi that helped his stuff play way up, and the Mets can take advantage of getting a second look at him. But they have to get to Game 7 first, and unlike in Game 2, the Dodgers will be using their best relievers in Game 6.

I was at the game on Thursday. The crowd was just deflated. I don't blame them. I tried to be loud, but it's really tough to keep a crowd in it when you are leaving a ton of runners stranded on offense, walking the world a pitching staff, etc, and then half the fans leave in the 7th. Friday would have been a much more fun game to be at. That said, I am glad this team came out like gangbusters and told the baseball world they weren't going to die that easy, with their tails between their legs. After back to back blowout losses they came with energy. I'm sure on the baseball side it's business as usual but on the fan and narrative side, it's all of a sudden a bullpen game vs Manaea and you like your chances there. And if they execute, maybe we get a game 7 and anything can happen then. I BELIEVE.
