David is one of the greatest Mets ever. He was a consummate professional. Would also have been a HOF if disease hadn't robbed years off his career.
@johncummings53508 ай бұрын
He wasn't robbed.....he was blessed with talent and had a nice career and made the loot. He's healthy today and living the life. He will likely coach or manage when his kids grow up.

He would have played till he was 40 and the mets probably would have got a championship with him on the team . Thats what was robbed the opportunities . @@johncummings5350

He was blessed but yeah the injures did affect he's chances of getting to the HOF, if he would have made 300 Home Runs and 2000 hits but sadly he didn't get the right numbers

David looks like he can still play. I hate it that his career was cut short due to injuries.

He was a future 1st ballot HOFer. I do hope he gets in someday.

It was disease, not injury. He has a spine condition that was unknown till late in his career. He tried playing through it which speaks to who David is. Had he kept playing he could have ended up paralyzed.

Lindor should be our next captain. His work ethic is great, and he's a great player who will finish his career here, hopefully. Seeing him with David cements this thought in my mind.

David one of my favorite all time Mets. I remember following him in the minors. It’s unfortunate the back problems creeped up. As far as Lindor, he’s a good and solid player, the hate towards needs to stop.

I love this interview because of a few things for me. 1. David Wright. My all time favorite Met. Only Piazza sits up there with him in my opinion. 2. Lindor is a humble dude. He worked his butt off and continues to grind for the Mets and is a Met for life now. He’s still got huge seasons in front of him and with the protection he has this year, with Pete and a few legit bats protecting him, I can see him hitting close to 40 HRs, steal 30, hit 30 Doubles, very, very possible for this young man. Mets will be surprisingly better than expected this year, despite the pitching whoa. Hopefully they play hard enough and win enough for David Stearns to go get some arms at the deadline and then have a huge offseason for us.

David’s Prime was good enough to put him into HOF consideration. I’m not saying he is a HOFer but I can see the Mets raising his number very, very soon and potentially down the line, see David don the Manager role.
