This review was super helpful and very informative. If you are trying to build consistency with your swing, it's really all about understanding club path, face angle, and low point. Great to know it was in line with trackman!!

A new quality video from Scott. It made me think about 2 points : I should find or build a case for my Mevo+ that can protect it and its external battery pack from the sun and the rain; People discussing about Launch monitor on forums focus a lot on driver shots but amateurs and pro who teaches to amateurs don’t need more than a 8 yards accuracy over 230 yards outside at the contrary they need good numbers for all the shots that attack the flag (distance VS closest to the pin contests). I would like to know what is the loss in accuracy between the modes (short indoor, indoor, outdoor,…), I have only one Mevo+ it could be interesting to do some testing with two. Thank you for your good content.

That's true unless you'd also like to play rounds on e6 and your driver is carrying 235 instead of the 265 it carries in real life. It makes simulator golf a lot less fun.
@benoitguitard28872 жыл бұрын
@@ambientgolf true, I use e6 too and I avoid to use driver indoor more because I am afraid to break the club head hurting an obstacle or to pierce a dry wall again with a ball 😬. Physics can’t be changed, somebody who carry 265 yards swing to fast for short indoor and indoor mode …

Great review, I’m really to know that the mevo+ w/ pro package compared so well against Trackman. Do you know if hitting of a mat with the ball teed up can affect AOA readings? I’m getting positive AOA reads with irons and wedges and it’s hard to square those reads with ball flight and dynamic loft difference to static loft (static larger than dynamic). Thanks
@scotthogangolf2 жыл бұрын
I'd check your measurements but I do see it off mats because people really aren't hitting down through the ball and they are actually catching some mat first. Something to check out if you're looking at it.

So i have heard the flightscope has to be in a direct line behind your ball. being on grass doesn't that make it a little difficult? I mean you move the ball sides ways due to divots.
@scotthogangolf9 ай бұрын
You have a small area, I believe 3 inches wide? You can still get ball data and all that but the club data would start to skew. Hitting off grass with any launch monitor that is always an issue when the turf gets used you have to move.
@gotigers716 Жыл бұрын
How did moving the hitting area slightly after every shot (due to divots) impact any of the pro / club data? That’s been one of my concerns on the range
@scotthogangolf Жыл бұрын
If you get too far off it can start to affect it, that is one of the benefits of the more expensive units is they have the ability to adjust for movement of the ball.
@ppierpont8 ай бұрын
I don't think the differences between the two units with longer clubs is any big deal because, as a percentage matter, 3 yards at 100 and 7.5 yards at 250 are the same amount of error (3%).

Hi @Scott hogan golf, I’m starting to look through your videos, but in the meantime, does the Pro package have the option to store club distance data like the Rapsodo or SC300i?
@scotthogangolf2 жыл бұрын
You can store sessions from when you're hitting, if that's what you're asking. I don't think it will take all your data and give you an average for that club from all your sessions. But you can hit shots with a club and see the average and all that, and that session would get stored.

@ambientgolf2 жыл бұрын
I'm going to guess that the Mevo+ was consistently shorter? I'm on a Trackman often and when I compare my indoor Trackman numbers to my outdoor Mevo+ numbers, my driver is always around 10 yards shorter than Trackman. Indoor Mevo+ readings are more like 30 yards short, but I chalk that up to the fact that I only have 8 feet of ball flight and my swing speed is around 110. I'd love for Flightscope to fix this issue, but it's not a huge deal. Great video, as always!

@scotthogangolf2 жыл бұрын
I've never doubted that he has the physical skills to compete at the highest level. If you come to AZ or Florida you will see many players who on any given day can beat players on Tour. The club champ at Whisper Rock (where 20-30 PGA Tour Players play) was not a tour player for 6 years straight. For whatever reason (money, desire, luck, performance under pressure, good timing) all factor into being able to get on tour. But I think you'll see him go out and shoot some low ones if you watch him play in his weekly rounds he plays.

Scott I have a Mevo + with the pro package. I haven’t been able to use it very much yet due to an injury but the few times I have used it my spin numbers with my driver have been WAY off. I’ve been getting numbers ranging from 1900 to 6000! I’m a 1 hndcp so pretty much know my numbers (don’t think I’ve ever hit a driver with 6500 rpm spin). I called Flightscope and the technical support rep told me it was because I was using range balls. Even if I select range balls my spin numbers are all over the place. Can you think of any other reasons for these results? I’ve followed the set up procedure as accurately as I can. Could the device be defective? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you hit down on it with a open face you could have driver spin numbers up to 6000 but that is high, I’ve seen really good players hit some bad drives that spin a lot like 4500-5000. it’s usually a mis hit or it’s a mis read it’s usually bc of the attack angle to down and spin loft is very high probably from open face. I’d check the AoA numbers first and see if they are outta wack or not.
@razor72412 жыл бұрын
@@seanbecker8328 My AOA is consistently between +1 and +3 and I VERY rarely hit the ball low on the club head (most common miss is high toe). My normal ball flight is a small draw. Plus, I’ve been on trackman and my spin is usually a little too high for my liking, but between 2400 and 2800 rpm. I’m wondering if It is the range balls (Callaway range balls), how I am settting up the unit, OR a unit that is defective when it comes to reading spin? I have to add that I have a Autoflex shaft which I think spins the ball more than most shafts. I had a regular Mevo before getting the Mevo + and NEVER got spin numbers in the 5000-6000 range with it with the same club! Thoughts/recommendations?

I guess for some that is possible, for me they read exactly the same, and measure up with what I'm hitting the ball on the course. But setups can vary for different people.

It wasn't bad with my indoor setup (112mph SS, 10-12' flight depending on when I had permanent vs portable) and it was still really close until I got up to 2i, 4w and driver. Not a deal-breaker by any means, though radar varies so wildly between environments that it's always going to be a dice roll when you put one in a space for the first time.
