Brooo… I’m Mexican from LBC in cali and I haven’t seen or heard anyone think like these guys.. Juneteenth is a black folk holiday we have no right to speak on it. Just support from the sidelines and show love.. these guys are 🤡 we can come together on a diff day but not on that day.. simple as that!!

You make a lot of seanse. It's like a straight man being upset he did not get invited to perform in a gay pride event. We can enjoy our separate cultural days, and come together on other multi-cultural events. I grew up in SD and love my Mexicans down here. When money was low, it was the Mexican taco shops we could afford, and food that kept us feed.

There’s actually a small community of black Mexican people in California. But if the Mexican in Cali really want to unite the community why don’t they reach out to some of the California artists to do so instead of being critical of what Kendrick is doing… Kendrick is trying to educate his own people like clean your own house before you start cleaning other situations.

The Latin kings and other Mexican gangs don’t like Acorn people whatsoever; spoke with some of the locals and they told me how Acorn people would be beat and killed for going in their neighborhood. What’s extremely mind boggling is they have Mexican rap, Mexican rappers with their own style and twist to their culture. It is clear to us Californians why Mexican rap artists weren't invited to the pop-out with friends show. It was not about them on Juneteenth. More importantly, in addition to their being from Compton and surrounding LA areas, “They Not Like Us” is a Cali song specifically that represents the street and hood politics of how we move. They're distraught that they didn't think to do something of this magnitude on Cinco De Mayo.

I assumed "NOT LIKE US" was much greater than that. The culture is bigger than just LA my love. At least that is what "BLACK" ppl got from it. Especially in a hip hop form that started on the other side of the country. Don't minimize it by thinking "NOT LIKE US" just united LA. Black Americans are much larger than LA, don't divide. Kendrick united us all. That's real love.

@@S.412-q3q No kidding my friend. I'm old enough to know this, I have been around since hip-hop was created, born in 73’ I know what he did I watched the whole entire show and witnessed history being made again by uniting this gang culture in LA. When I said They Not Like Us is a California song, I’m speaking about things he rapping about, the Cadence of the flow, the style in which he delivers each line, the way he spitting. Not to mention, it has that Bay Area sound and influence. While this song is for the culture as it pertains to black people in America and abroad. It is still a California Anthem.

How did she divide? Being from the East Coast, more specifically NYC, I understood she pointed out Cali politics between Blacks and Latinos, specifically the Mexicans. All the elements of a great Cali song were there, from beats to flow to the message, so it will now become their national anthem. It's cool and similar to when Pac made California Love. Yes, I know Pac was born in NYC. Still, It was a song that was their national anthem for a while, even if other coasts and black people enjoyed it. I’m still going to bump it from my end without being offended by statements of the black people who live under the politics of Cali. For the collective of black people, it means one thing, while for black Californians, it means much more. Remember, two things can be true, which applies to her comment.
