We call it morro in El Salvador. It does taste delicious in horchata. We use the shells to make bowls for a typical dish called chuco, It's traditional to serve it in a morro bowl.

Cucujete. It is used for the shell. The seeds look tasty. I never heard of any person eating the pulp. It might have been a food of the Great Giant Ground Sloth.

When I was about 10 years old I was cutting up a prickly pear on a piece of newspaper but it still had the glochids on it so when I cut it some of them went on the paper and somehow got onto the fruit and ended up under my tongue, I seriously thought I was going to die, I've been scarred for life... Nice to see you trying all these fruits, cool channel!

I'm from the Philippines. Have you tried Kamias, Aratilis and Sinigwelas? I used to walk around my neighborhood and pick and eat these. Kamias is sour, Aratilis is pretty sweet and Sinigwelas are small and might taste like a mango to some... Indian mangoes are very good as well, especially when not ripe. There is a certain kind of banana called Saba, and if you boil it for a while it becomes soft and sweet. My grandmother made a thing called Banana-Q out of it. I recently found your channel, and its cool. Good luck on the long run! Subscribed :)

I recommend you eat cambotia you can eat the seeds raw and the fruit pulp. It's one palm fruit tree that grow in southern of Brazil

It is delicious if you know how to eat it. We roast the seeds and make a juice called semilla de jicaro. Also cows are eat them during drought

Man, that fruit is called jicaro, the wine is no taste, but the seed are very richs in proteins, the brebage of these seeds are so good! The pulp is used to feed cows

Most of the food that we eat now is from the prehistoric Americas. For example: chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Can you imagine Italian food before the introduction of the tomato from prehistoric Mexico? Or Thai food before the introduction of hot peppers from Mexico? Look at my other post above with videos of 2 women happily carrying out their culinary tradition with Mexican Calabash. Imagine if you approached bread from outside our culture, and started by chewing on wheat seeds. Like chocolate, you need to process the seeds first. Also, it is very nutritious. (You still might not like it, because many Americans don't like the licorice flavor).

My family is Salvadoran and we make horchata with the ground up seeds of this one fruit called "Morro". That fruit you had there was most likely the same if I'm not mistaken, we use the shell as sort of a ladel.

We eat the seeds only. Cows are given this during drought and of course we use the shell to make spoons, cups etc. You have to wash the seeds.

Eat butia I recommend you to eat it! you can eat the seeds raw and the fruit pulp too. People also put the fruit s in alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic juices.

In india, a hawker will drill a hole, and mash everything up with a special stick, then pour it out in a glass for people to drink. The colour should be golden yellow and the drink is fabulous. Good for the body...

I remember as a kid the grove of trees in mexico with this calabash hanging from the trees I can only recall they did taste like licorice. I looked it up on other mexican videos and they say it has several uses besides as a food for people. Thanks for posting

That fruit is called cirian or jicara too in some parts of Mexico. It smells too bad actually lol. But the shell has many uses specially for artisans works

Have you ever had genip? It grows in the Caribbean, it's really good. Also, have you ever heard paw paw? It used to be a staple crop for Native Americans but it never caught on with the colonists. I've never tried it because it doesn't grow where I live but I've always wanted to.

In Costa Rica we use the pulp to treat scabies on dogs. You brush the dog's skin affected area with the pulp. you must break the fruit and leave it to rot for a few days before using it though. I have also heard that it has abortive properties

That one is the same as the calabash, there are 2 species, cujete and alata, people always confuse them, but I would totally not take one as ripe as that one, only if the flesh was white, even though I have never tried them, it smells nice, but it gets into my head very easily

You havee to taste mangostino it is preatty rare in Colombia but it is found here and it is sooo good like i dont eat it that much because of the price but every time i see it i beg my mom to buy it (i dont know the name in inglish of mangostino)
