3:35 If you'd like to see another subject of the Crown use a Japanese-style bitters dispenser, watch _1984_ starring John Hurt and Richard Burton. The waiter at the café uses one to dispense clove oil (their specialty) with three spurts from the dispenser.

THATS what u got from that film? Wow!

No, I got every single detail, metaphor, and political warning in the book, starting almost fifty years ago when I was a cadet at Marine Military Academy and then on my own ever since. I've seen every version of film adaptation, too. I memorized almost all of the John Hurt 1984 film, so I remembered about the bitters dispenser.

Nice! Always appreciate you and your team! There is a cocktail called "Miss Scarlet" from Doug Phillips from Slippery Slope of Chicago, which uses gin, lime, Cynar, grenadine, bitters. I also make a version I call in homage "Miss Scarlet's Squad" using Blanco tequila. I like the complexity the Cynar brings with the Blanco. I used to save the cherry juice from our luxardo cherries for a mezcal old fashioned. I have a whole bottle just chilling in my bar’s cupboard that I think might work really well for this drink! In Mexico, "two small limes" were very likely Mexican Limes, AKA Key Limes. Very small, very tart, and two of them would probably amount to .5oz or less. I definitely prefer them in cocktails though, even if they are more work. (I've got both types growing on my property.)

You pour the drink and the soda water in simultaneously, that’s an interesting technique. A whole lot of recipes say “top with soda water” but then if you drink them with a straw you never get any of the effervescence until it’s mostly gone flat right at the end. I guess this helps?
@StevetheBartender_9 ай бұрын
I don’t usually pour like that but it works well. I often pour the soda water into the tin prior to straining but that doesn’t help the carbonation.
@m1ndsurfer8 ай бұрын
@@StevetheBartender_ One of the tips in a Kevin Kos’ video you linked to was to tare the glass on a scale before pouring a carbonated ingredient in, and for most soft drinks 30g ~ 30ml so you can avoid flattening it by pouring it into a jigger first. I liked that one too.
